I just happen to be reading through a stack of Gold Key Uncle Scrooge comics tonight when I stumble apon issue 148 and 171 have the SAME story in it- "Riches, Riches, Everywhere!"
The rest of 171 has two different stories in it after the main one.
How come there was a repeat of the story? I didn't think Gold Key did that with their issues unless it's Gold Key/Whitman thing.

They did that all the time... ...and those are 23 issues apart, so approximately 2 years...not unusual at all for them to re-use a story after that long... You have to remember...they were'nt set up with the same kind of production staff as Marvel or DC...alot of their work was farmed out to people who were not in the office...and a lot of their material from the 1970s on were reprints of earlier stuff anyway...

Ah-ha! Thank you for the answer. I guess it won't be so strange if I notice it more......Lately after collecting a bunch of Dell comics and Gold Key/Whitman and Gladstone I am starting to see lots of reprints..I sometimes reread them..Sometimes I skip.

Hmm...I haven't actually noticed that and I have the full run (USA version)...I did notice the Australian vs USA version would do that when they had the back comics (flip it upside down and read)....And I also noticed the Australian versions the 2nd story at times would be different.

| i think the repeated story was when the first panel has a character (can't remember. i know it was an adult) pointing downwards and lightening in the background.
