Is there something with this issue that I should know about?
I just sold a copy of this book for $18.08 on Ebay. That's more than a raw 10.0 is guided at.

Zatanna: Everyday Magic

Hmmm...

This site is asking $40:

http://www.magiccomics.com/store33/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=111

Mile High is out of stock, but they brazenly put down $50 for NM:

http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=list&title=99668754419&snumber=1

Earth 2 is offering it 'discounted' at $42.46:

http://www.earth2comics.com/catalog/product_view.php?prod_id=27697

eBay:

Aside from your $18 ones...

$19.99 BIN-

$20.25-

I would imagine a bump in the database would be in order....maybe $15-20 range?

(I doubt those other online sellers are going to move many with their prices).

According to Newsarama the one-ahot sold out and DC had no plans to reprint it....but I don't know what the print run was.

It appears this was #287 on the top 300 sellers in Apr 2003:

287 ZATANNA EVERYDAY MAGIC $5.95 DC 1,929

Perhaps the run was 2,000?  Seems like 71 copies isn't enough of a hold back...but hey, I'm trying to figure out why the prices are so high, too.

Thanks for the research argus.

I didn't think that Zatanna was just a hot character. I just put it up on Ebay and was hoping to fetch a $1 or so out of it. Had no idea that some stores were selling it for upwards of $50.

That's just crazy.

Finally got home from work and checked my print guides.

Malloy doesn't list it.

OPG has it at cover.

CBG has it at cover, as well, but they listed the Diamond final orders @ 17,862.

I am assuming that either that is wrong or that the list I got for the top 300 Apr '03 is wrong.

I find it hard to believe that DC would've printed over 17,000 of that trade.....seems like an awful big print run for a limited niche character......

There might be something going on that neither one of us are aware of.

I always thought she was an interesting character, and not only that..but when she does make apeearences, rather it be JLA..or mostly Batman comics, she is used it a rather good way where she's well written into the story...

She's well under used.

Next to Wonder woman, Catwoman, Black Canary, and possibly power girl, who doesn't get used enough either, shes one of the better female characters in the Dc universe.

An update on this:

Just found out that the seller I sold this to is one Buddy Saunders of Lone Star Comics (MyComicShop.com). If you check out their website they are currently "Sold Out" of this particular issue.

Zatanna Everyday Magic (2003)

I bet you in about a week or so they won't be out of stock anymore (unless they already have a buyer for it). They bought it from me for $18. They'll probably turn around and put a $50 price on it.
