Finally got to reading this one and I have to say that last panel with Steve being potentially in statis in Zola's hideout was a bit dissapointing. Bucky is making an awesome Cap so far. You had to know it wouldn't last but it feels like he's just getting into the swing of things, it's too soon for Steve to come back. Leave him dead a couple more years I say. The fight with Crossbones was great. Rogers would have never shot anyone or knifed anyone in the leg. Bucky doesn't have those qualms though. Brubaker is a god I swear. No one is in his league at the moment.

| Bucky's turned out to be a good character and all, but he's no Steve Rogers. Even if they bring back Steve, be it need or far, I can see Bucky staying as Cap while Steve travels the country getting back in tune with America and the times.

Icebreaka (4/4/2008) Finally got to reading this one and I have to say that last panel with Steve being potentially in statis in Zola's hideout was a bit dissapointing. Bucky is making an awesome Cap so far. You had to know it wouldn't last but it feels like he's just getting into the swing of things, it's too soon for Steve to come back. Brubaker is a god I swear. No one is in his league at the moment.I saw this issue and I am also dissapointed they'll be brining him back soon. At least 3 years would be a good time frame to keep him away, hell 3 years would fly by. I dont particularly care for Bucky being Cap because he's not keeping in the tradition of Cap, like you said, he was shooting and knifing people. Cap would never do that, its soiling his reputation that he built for decades. They could have had him Captain Homeland Security or something??

| OK guys, heres what I think is going to happen. I think Steve Rogers will come back as captain america, and I also think the winter soldier will return as bucky, and we will see Captain america and Bucky side by side again. I am thinking this is the coolest way Brubaker could think to bring bucky back without it being corny. just my thoughts, GG ps. I forgot to mention that there is no way they are going to do a captain America movie without steve rogers. Absolutley no way. The movie is a few years from coming out so they got to bring him back sooner or later.
I was Captain America when Captain America wasn't cool

Wow a lot of you seem to be jumping the gun a bit. You saw "steve" for one page of the issue and you automatically assume that its really him! I think they're going to let his death ride a little bit.

| I dont know. I think it's too soon to bring him back. And a face behind a window means nothing. Everything is possible. But I agreed Cap and Bucky will stand together again

Actually, the Steve Rogers who was killed was really a Skrull all along. The Steve Rogers that was found by the Avengers was a Skrull plant and the real Steve Rogers was placed in suspended animation after WWII ended to be awakened for the next big crisis!!!

PEP (4/6/2008) Actually, the Steve Rogers who was killed was really a Skrull all along. The Steve Rogers that was found by the Avengers was a Skrull plant and the real Steve Rogers was placed in suspended animation after WWII ended to be awakened for the next big crisis!!!That sounds horrible, absolutely horrible! That's a billion times worse then retconning Spider Man in OMD... If that happens, I leave comics for good.... Just a thought though... if Invisible Woman is a Skrull, that means (presumably) Mr. Fantastic did it with a Skrull and depending on when she was snagged and replaced, has a baby-half-Skrull. Looking at the grand scope of the MU, a think a lot of people are going to have 'Crying Game'-like moments when they realize they've boinked a Skrull... just nasty!
