| I have posted the grades of the 20 books I sent into CGC. I guess I would have to say that tbir grading was pretty much on the money, except for maybe my X-Men 8,9 and 10, whiuch I thought might have come in 0.5 higher. The biggest shock was to see 6 restored books, which I was not expecting at all. Some of these books were purchased from reliable sellers and the restoration was not mentioned in the comic grading notes. Do you think it is worth complaining to the seller?

As KoR said, most people probably have restored books in their collections and don't even know it. As bad as the restored books are, I feel for you on the 2 trimmed books, that's a killer.

That's too bad on your first submission crowman. Most came back lower than I personally expected, and the several restored books that came back just don't help. I am usually more accurate than I was. I think I need to hold the book in person to get a more accurate grade, maybe. How long ago were the books purchased crowman. If you'd had the books for over 6 months or 9 months, it is really too long to complain. Every reputable dealer of GA and SA books will always refund a book if it comes back restored (and it wasn't sold as so), but there is an unspoken time limit too. If they weren't purchased in the last 6 months or so, I'd say you're out of luck, unfortunately.

| Thanks for your comments guys. Not to worry King, you are one of the most rrespected and well thought of forum members and I always value your opinions. Some of the books I have had way too long to get them changed, but some maybe not. This has taught me one thing.... sending SA's in to CGC can be a risky business and you have to be very sure of your grade. Maybe I will stick to moderns in the future.

Hey Crowman, I'm trying to figure out how much CGC grading actually costs? How many comics did you get graded, and how much did it cost all together? If you don't mind my asking that is (I don't see why you would but some folks don't like talking about money too much).
From what I can figure out on the CGC Web site, it looks like $20/comic is the minimum, and that's for comics that aren't valued over $100. Is this true?

| That's for value tier. You have to submit a 30 book minimum. That tier is good for the high grade 1970-1974 books. Submitting books like Crowman did is probably the standard tier which is $49 each. It seemed like a fast turnaround time, so I am just guessing it is standard. Economy is $29 each, but it takes a longer time and the book has to be worth $250 or less.
