OK, having spent a couple of days messing with the site now, I very much like
pretty much every aspect of it. I am enjoying finally (after 30 years) getting
my collection in some kind of searchable format! (My previous method was ~15
years ago, hand written in notebooks.)
The one think I DON'T like so far is how you fill / manipulate boxes. I have my
boxes labeled SB0001 (short box #1), LB0001 (long box #1), etc. I see that you
can change descriptions of the boxes, but they are still listed simply as BOX #1, etc.
The problem is, with 40 odd boxes, I'm not doing them in order, so I'm going to end
up with SB0001 as BOX #1, SB0004 as BOX #2, LB0002 as BOX #3, you get the idea.
This very much pains the OCD in me. It would be nice to be able to create the boxes
under the boxes interface, with the correct title. I'd like to keep boxes even when they
are empty (since I sometimes have empty ones when moving titles around). Also, adding
issues to the box is a serious pain, since you can't pick a range in the interface where you
add items to the boxes. You can select / deselect all, but if I only want to put 100 issues
of a run in a box where I have 300 issues, I have to click check boxes 100 times.
It is possible that I'm missing some aspect of how to manipulate boxes, but so far it is more
of a pain than a benefit. Please let me know if there is something that I'm missing.
Thanks,
badfeet

An idea would be to name all your boxes first, then add the comics as you come to them.
Where does he get those wonderful toys!
I have yet begun to surrender.

Do you mean name all the virtual boxes first? You can't do that, since you can't create a
virtual box without adding comics to it. Unless I just add one issue of a comic and create
a ton of boxes, but that seems like a lot of extra work. And that still doesn't help on adding
100+ issues of a multi-hundred book run. My pointer finger is going to wear out...
Thanks,

Also it would be nice if there was a select all in the interface when you're editing a box, so you can
remove all the issues with a couple of clicks instead of a couple hundred.

Oh fantastic! Thank you. I intended my comments to be constructive, as I think you have a fantastic
site / service here. I'm actually excited about my collection for the first time in 10 years. (It has been
moved around in boxes for a long time now. Not a very portable hobby.) The process is slow though
since I keep stopping to (re)read my favorite issues.

Sorry about using 'crappy' in the thread title. I should have said 'difficult' or 'not robust' feel free
to change it so it doesn't seem so snappish.
