Wow,

What a great post! And very convincing too. I've always loved Captain America, so I guess my brain tricked me into overlooking such terrible artwork. I do remember being really confused when Liefeld started drawing The Fighting American. The character was so close to being exactly like Captain America. Why would he do such a thing? Well, great post anyway. Take care.

I cannot stand Larsen's art either, but you are right that they cannot be put in the same sentence.

i was a dealer back in those days and i remember talking to some buddies about how bad his art was and after a general consensus decided to order very light on the stuff he did well

we all got screwed on the new mutant stuff thinking that it was garbage..but boy did it sell..ended up going on the after market and chasing it ... just remember art has nothing to do with the buying and selling of comic bks the general public is fickle -hot one day dead the next...i still have some of his stuff...and it blows...

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I needed the laughs...

I"d stopped collecting cold in the early 90's because I couldn't stand the Liefeld/ Larsen influence all over the popular books. This thread just reminds me, I did the right thing coming back after Liefeld's prime.

God! I'd forgotten about the Levi's commercial. Painful!!!

I know that you've been waiting for it. Since you can't wait any longer, just go ahead and skip forward to the 2:02 mark.

Larsen can a tleast write a decent comic book. that you have to admit...

And given all the stuff he has to do on a monthly basis..for him to put out a book, drawn and written all by himself, he does a pretty damn good job.

Rob has got to be the worst artist ever in the comic biz. His characters seem to be rip offs of Marvel characters
