I recently just bought Red Sonja #1 (1977) of eBay for about $3.63 (including Delivery). I was expecting it to arrive by mail on Thursday, so that evening i made sure i was home to get it.
I walked to the letter box and i saw it there, i was excited until i realised, the post man rolled the parcel up and stuffed it in the mailbox were the all junk mail goes. Even though on top the parcel it clearly said PLEASE DO NOT BEND (thank you).
I was devastated. I know i only spent $3.63 on it, but the stupidity of a person just ruined a very fine Comic book.
I immediately took the comic book out of the old bag it came in and stuck it between the pages of the biggest book i could find so i could flatten it. It worked, it only has two long crease marks on the cover which you can only see on certain angles.
Now the question is who do you blame? the postman? or the seller?
I blame the seller for not making the parcel stiff enough so it can't get bent. He just had it in a bag with a thin card that was probably 15 yeas old.
I'm not going to mark as negative, but what am i gonna do is leave firm warning for other buyers in his feedback. I think i will even send him a message just so he is aware.
Oh I'm new by the way so hi!

| That's why I made my books shipped at work, so I know the package is delivered in hands, and not folded in the mailbox. You should try

| I've just started a new job, and the post here isn't really that safe. The receptionist holds on to mail for a while. But in the past the post office has held the package and notified me then i would go and pick it up. Anyway i have emailed the seller and expressed my dissapointement. He was felt bad and said he would package them better in the future. Sounded Genuine. I would still buy from him again, but i would make sure it was packaged right.

This is why I make it so my packages aren't bendable...I worry about some postie doing this...But I've found once you wrap cardboard and bubble wrap around the comic it's not bendable anymore UNLESS the postie really wants to spend a hard time bending it.
Thankfully my post box is big enough so there is no need to bend the comics (which is one reason we bough a big post box) and it's worked like a charm. I have told some sellers they need to use better cardboard or/and postal bags when shipping because what some people use is just a laugh. But atleast the seller seems to understand which is a good start. What you could do is purchase another book from them and see if they have changed their ways. I noticed once I sent a message to a seller who did this they wisened up their act

| I've had 4 comics ruined that way. I put most of the blame on the seller, everytime I win an auction on ebay I send the following message: Please ensure that there is sturdy cardboard support and a DO NOT BEND on the outside, my postman tends to fold or bend packages if they are not sturdy. Thanks. It's worked so far for me, I didnt do that with the 4 comic books that were damaged, but the seller should know that the package is going to go through a lot of hands before it reaches its final destination. Whenever I ship comics out I pack them just the way I'd like to receive them.
