batman yr 1 just love this comics question the full series Batman Year 1 is good, But The Question series from the eigthies is one of my faves. THE WHOLE SERIES. The question was reinvented in a awesome way...every issue was just great. You're gonna love it!! I wish that Sage was still alive, I don't like Montoya much. TEX

Read Machine Man #1-9. It was pretty good.
#9 was the last Kirby issue. #10 was not released until 8 months later.
#9 ended with a look for MM in an upcoming Hulk(#235-237 I missing #235).
This would be X-51's first official appearance in the Marvel Universe.
In 2001 #8, X-51's 1st app., one of the characters made a reference to Marvel's Mighty Avengers, which made it seem that Kirby wanted to keep the character in a separate universe. Also, I believe the title took place in the future, although, the only time reference I recall was about the gas shortage having been over, which would most likely have been a present day reference.
I'm wondering if he stopped doing the title because of this foray into the Marvel Universe, or if it was lack of sales that caused the hiatus, or perhaps, lack of sales led to the foray. Of course, it could be that Kirby had left Marvel again, or was he strictly working as a free agent at this time?

Just read Supreme Power 1-12 over the past few nights, I loved it!! It's clearly a rip off/ retooling of the JLA, or a dark JLA if you will, but it was well done. TEX

Just read NYX #s 1-5 over the last couple of nights.I'm not really sure what to think of this series. I don't think that it was all that great. Not really sure what all of the hype was about with this series back in the day. I remember when one of the issues were selling for multiple of cover price. I think it was the issue that had the first appearance of X-23 in it. I can't remember what issue that was off the type of my head at the moment. The particular issues that I read were the "Marvel Must Haves" editions. I don't think that this series was good enough to be classified as "must have" IMO. I think that the only reason that these editions were printed was because one Mr. Joe Quesada was attached to the book.
