Just curious about a couple prices I saw today... got the newsletter from them stating they had a FF 1, DD 1, Adventure 247, etc... and that they still had the 62% off sale going on... well I looked in the store and the have the FF 1 listed in VG at $9120 (after the discount)... since when is this book $24k in VG condition... my price guide is only a couple years old but still does that seem right... i mean maybe $9120 is possible if someone wants to pay about 4x the guide price but $24k?? sheesh...

Mile High's prices are insane. I don't see how they can sell many back issues at all.

Actually, early this year, when I was just starting to look at comics on ebay, I contacted them about some of their listings for early Flash comics. These were situations where six of eight copies of a particular issue were offered by various sellers with BIN prices. In each case, Mile High's price was three or four times as much as the most expensive of the rest of them. So I wrote to them asking if maybe the prices were a mistake. I pointed out the fact that there were many other listings so these weren't hard to find issues, all that good stuff. I didn't really expect to hear back from them, but after about a week I got a response. They said that they base their prices and "what the book is worth to us, and how difficult it will be to restock."

So there you have it.

Mile High Comic Shops here in Colorado used to be so good. Good service, some deals...and they'd ship books from other stores and send to that store for pick up, or even on their site, at no extra costs to you...

Well, that was years ago...lol.

All except their Main store, which is huge......are all crap. Run by crappy franchise owners who don't even take care of the shops.

The Main store still is really really really nice, but way to far from me to go to on a regular basis. So I just stick to the one near me...

but yeah, they've really gone down hill over the last just few years.

They used to be like i said...but I haven't been to one in a long time outside of picking up some Moderns.

I'm guessing their prices are just average with everyone else. But i doubt their that good anymore.
