Thats what I'm talking about brother!!! I don't even know if I should post my buys from last night now that don't even come close to your haul.

check you messages as well

Jesse James

Jesse!,

These books don't even come close to the deals that you are able to come up with.

And I just hit you up with a reply.

Excelsior my fellow comic book enthusiasts!

I have arisen from the ashes and been born once again. It's been awhile since I've last been a regular on these boards. I'm hoping that that doesn't happen to me again. I miss the interaction and all the interesting people on here. Can't forget to mention all of the information that I've gained from being on here.

And what better way to celebrate my return than to post a nice little lot of 15 books that I recently picked up from my local HPB store.

Here is what I picked up & what I paid for each:

G. I. Joe: A Real American Hero #53 $1.00
Avengers Annual #18 $1.00
Justice League of America #198 $1.00
Batman and the Outsiders #3 $1.00
The Offical Handbook of the Marvel Universe: The Avengers 2004 $1.00
Wonder Woman #184 $1.00
Villains United #1 $1.00
Universe X: Wizard Special Edition $1.00
Paradise X: Wizard Special Edition $1.00
Batman: Dark Victory #0 $1.00
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (Special Edition) $1.25
Hell and Back #5 $1.50
Hell and Back #6 $1.50
Ultimate Origins #4 (Variant Edition) $1.50
Ultimate Origins #5 (Variant Edition) $1.50

Paid a total of $17.25 plus tax.

I picked up the copy of G. I. Joe: A Real American Hero #53 because anytime that I see one of the books that came out with that type of cover I'll usually pick it up. Then I got myself that copy of Avengers Annual #18 to add to my Avengers Vol. 1 run. I really liked the cover to Wonder Woman #184 when I saw it. I decided to throw it in. I collect sketch covers (own quite a few sketch covers CGCed at 9.8). So naturally I had to pick up that copy of Villains United #1 when I saw it. I picked up the Sin City books because I really liked reading the TPBs. I've never been able to find any of the serial issues around until I found these. The other books I picked up because.......... well, just because.

Until next time!

Thanks Tex!

It's been too long. Hopefully I'll be able to post more frequently this time around, and I won't have to leave the boards for any long periods of time again.

And now for something completely different!!!

I'm not able to change the title of this topic, so I'll just got on with it then.

I'm going through my collection at the current moment trying to get it all in order.  Working on the "A's" right now. I'm going to post some cool cover-shots when I come across some. So keep checking back for new additions.

First off:
A nice group of Alex Ross painted covers.
Always very nice to look at.

Stay tuned for more to come.

Yep, he is Da Man in my book also. I sometimes just buy certain books just for his cover art. Can't afford any original art from him so his posters and books will have to do.

I never read any of the Astro City books. Are they any good or just so so?

Thanks for stopping by head-rush!

I am the same way. I love a cover done by Alex Ross. I will buy certain books just because he has done the cover to it.

I haven't read any of the Astro City books yet. I just bought them because of who did the covers. They've just been stored away since the day they were bought.
