Wow, I just checked the Overstreet value on this, it's pretty low, far lower than I was assuming. Four multiples of guide puts it around three grand. Interesting that you can get such an old, cool looking and incredibly rare comic, in very high grade, for what seems like not that much money to me. Kinda heartening.
Throw Captain America on the cover and it'd be like 50x the price eh?

That is an interesting philosophy of being able to buy versus be able to own. Having never thought about it in terms like that, it lends credence to an unspoken current in my collection, as to why I do not own major keys as of yet. I personally can't afford to own them yet. Until certain events happen (baring winning the lottery,) paying off my house and getting my daughter through college take precedent over anything. But perhaps in 5 years, things will be where I can say, yes I can afford to own these books.
Where does he get those wonderful toys!
I have yet begun to surrender.

| Thanks everyone. I am really proud and excited about the book. It is just such a beautiful book--even more so in person. The gloss is amazing. How can a book that is 65 years old be in such pristine condition? Really amazing. Guide is kind of low on it, but then again Overstreet is low on a lot of GA books. Overstreet has been low on war cover Timelys forever now. There are plenty of books that Overstreet is high and low on. marmat, I am sort of obligated to try and sell it. But that doesn't mean I won't be holding on to it for a while.

Congrats on the book...I am jealous...You better hope Mark Browning doesn't come trolling around
"France has neither winter, nor summer, nor morals. France is miserable because it is filled with Frenchmen, and Frenchmen are miserable because they live in France. [...] Apart from these drawbacks it is a fine country. "

When did you get this book? Did you have it with you in Charlotte or was it in the mail? I need to get you to start helping me with some older books...
