Thanks Tex, it was a comic shop that was switching over to a Sports card shop. The new owners wanted the comics gone, so everything they had was a dollar. It was in a box of badly decayed Classic Illustrated, so far gone that I didn't buy them at a $1 each.

I decided I wanted Jack of Fables to go with my growing Fables collection, so I picked up this lot.
Issues 1-23, and 25 for $25.50

The interior art is good, but I can't speak to the story as I haven't read them yet, I've been distracted reading Sandman.
Here's a small Vertigo run I started and finished with one order. I had already read and enjoyed the Un-men series that is a sequel to this so, I guess I read them out of order, but I still enjoyed both.
American Freak #1-5 for $3.50
It is also quite common for Vertigo to release Hard bound graphic novels that were never a comic series. I bought my first one recently at a local used book store. Got it for half of cover, but paid with trade credit 
Cairo Graphic Novel, its the exact same Writer/Artist team that does Air

It's a good read,
I just can't seem to find #2. I don't think that it's pricey. There are five or so in my lcs. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll take care of ya.
