I have all but quit moderns now. I am maintaining Uncanny X-Men, but only up to #500.  also keep the current Thor series ticking over because he is my favourite character.

Don't think I will ever quit picking up back issues, at least not until the day I sell the collection.

i am done, 20+ years of reading collecting is over. The prices are just too high for me now. I will only continue to read "The Walking Dead" and may flick through some TPB's in my bookstore but it is no longer financially viable for me to continue as i was.

Going to be selling up soon too...

As I stated earlier, I will pick up the run I am missing on eBay, at least to issue #500. And I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get that cheaper than cover price.

As much as I am a modern comic (up to date not older moderns) reader *gasps* I've quit collecting again...I suspect I'll make a purchase of modern comics sometime in the future though.

But I've been focusing on my whitman/gold key/dell collections when it comes to Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck and WD&C. So haven't fully quit..*phew*

I'm down to Tor (a mini series with three issues to go and really good imo), Zorro, and maybe Kick-***. The rest of these new fangled comics can go jump in a lake!

I've been getting so much more pleasure out of Silver and Bronze comics (mostly DC), I have no regrets about dropping moderns.

I quit buying any amount of NEW comics about 1996. I only buy 1 or 2 NEW comics a month now. (If that many!)

I DO however buy OLDER/VINTAGE comics on a regular basis now. (with the creation of ebay, it's a buyers market nowadays!)

That is ultimately my goal.  I got back into collecting a few years back.  I took my 200 or so Bronze and Silvers from my childhood and amassed 3000 more in 2 years or so.  Mostly modern.  Now, I have this collection to sort, catalog and bag/board.  Winter task.  As I do it, I will cull out what i do not want and sell on E-Bay.

I also buy moderns, just to stay up with storylines.  I am a Supes/Bats/Flash/GL/GA/JLA kind of guy.  If that was all, I would be fine.  I get dragged into Infinite Crisis, and tie ins and all that.  Okay, at least I stopped the whole minis unless it ties into a major event, then I am a sucker for it.  I am at 20 or so a month.  Managebale, but I have not had the time to even read them for the past 2 years, I am so behind, I want to enjoy my collection of Bronze and Silvers and cut back moderns.  It is a vicious cycle.  Why is there Detective, Batman, Batman Confidential, Superman, Action, Superman Confidential.  Why not just 1?  Arghhh!!!
