Just wondering if any of you guys have quit collecting or buying comics. if so for how long and why. I am thinking about getting out of collecting but feel i would probably come back. i quit when i was younger and here i am back at it. i just paid five dollars for a book, invincible 50. i said i would never pay 5.00 bucks but i just did in two weeks over 100.00 and i dont buy that many books. its a very expensive form of entertainment. today i got 32.00 worth of books all done in 32 minutes of reading. 9 books total. Maybe i will just stop buying moderns. i dont know i guess i might have a sale soon or not?

| I have not cut back yet- but I will have no choice soon. Its funny- if I ever drop dead my relatives could tell when I had money in my life and when I was broke by the amount of comics purchased during a certain time period. Bad time coming up

| I was buying currents about 5 years ago when they were $2.25 each. I was buying a lot of them. $2.99 seemed to have been my breaking point. Before that, it would have been 15 years ago when my mom was doing the buying. I think the publishers need to stop what they're doing because from what I see they are fighting a losing battle. Maybe they will start producing books on pulp again with lower quality ink once they find that the $5 mark will probably not work. Books are going for $5 now? Wow, that's amazing. High oil and gas prices certainly take a toll.

| $3 is the limit for me. When any ongoing I was buying went over $3 I dropped it. I was buying close to 80 moderns a month back in 2004 but gradually have cut back and am now only getting 8 ongoing titles a month. I don't mind paying more than $3 for 'special events' one off if the are more pages etc. I also try out new titles and will pick up something that really appeals in addition to my 8 regulars.

I've quit different times over the years. I buy comics now, usually back issues or sets of trades, but I don't and will not buy single modern issues. The only moderns I think i could buy by the issue is ASM as I want to keep collecting that regardless, most likely discounted off cover price in dollar bins or so. $5.00 an issue? Looks like its back to the torrents.

I've never quit by choice, but went though periods in the past where I didn't buy due to financial problems. I will never quit buying comics as long as the money is there to spend for them.
