Man, I said this on the old board too..but..

Theres so many people posting right now on the new board obviously just trying to get a high post count going again, it's freaking harder than hell keeping up with this board lately. Theres something new and buried everytime you check back on the boards..

Just way too many new threads and posts...

Im hoping it dies back down to how it was before the move sometime soon...

I don't think people are trying to get their post count up but lots of activity is a good thing. Lots to do and read when you log in.

I'm for bringing the old counts back over.

People were encouraged to re-create as many of the threads as they so chose since it was so up in the air what if anything would be able to be moved over. Also as I was in the 1st handful of people who moved over it was like the open desert in here since there were really no topics obviously and nothing to talk about.
I'll take a somewhat busy board filled with numerous active topics over checking in here in a few hours and seeing that 4 people commented on something during that span leading to another "Is the board dying thread". I'm more than happy to see all the people adding what they can to help jumpstart the new board. I don't think it has anything to do with people padding their post counts. I was one of the ones who voted against bringing over the old post counts and the only active member (not a mod or administrator) with more posts than me on the old board was KoR.

Sherlock-you are one of my favourite Posters (if that is a correct term) but I would in this case disagree as to your argument for not restoring the old post counts.

I kind of was proud when I got my avatar and when I hit a higher level-

I know it will come again but its like a "Grandfather" clauses in Business-

Often various Boards  award a special position to individuals with a record of long service-

Could we not treat this the same way?

I have a few special designations because I am an old timer-I served on various Boards and was awarded a special place in these groups for long service-could we not treat this the same way?

Read the custom title thread ruk, I think it's a pretty nice compromise if it comes to be (your previous posts would be recognized), we were not allowed custom titles on the old board. And hey if they do decide to add them together I'm not going to complain, I'll take my 6400 posts from the other board, I'm just not overly concerned.
