Ghita of ALIzar is NOT a Pacific Comic.

and I was the first Collector on these boards to finish a full Pacific Comics collection.

May you all die in pieces...

For newcomers to the boards you can find the original unsettled debate about Blue Dolphin / Pacific and the Ghita of ALIzar graphic novel here...

rofl... sorry to be such a sourpuss, but I was real proud to win the old Pacific race of 200?  Happy to see my name sit atop the list on the old boards, even with the addition of other imprints that had anything to do with the Pacific company.

Now that is gone.

whoever translated this topic obviously did not know about the ins and outs of this topic and, just like that, Tradition and history goes poof.  One of the reasons that I am unhappy with the transition.

Don't worry you are not the only one to think the new boards are inferior. I long for the glory days of this publishers section when we still had Bill (Wrjwrj) with us and you and Icouldbe and Robert Alvarez were frequent visitors and Rocket posted here more often.

Argus, Ronan, Julian, Defiant, Ricvig, Mark, Shadow and many others still keep it alive but I miss the days when more of us supported this, my favorite section.

It has surprised me how long it's taking me to put together a Pacific run. I took a steady pace at it but finishing off the last few issues I need is proving harder than expected.

Just jumping in and refueling the Ghita debate.

Ghita of Alizarr - Blue Dolphin edition:

      ISBN: 0943128056

Rog 2000 - Pacific Comics:

      ISBN: 0943128005

Note that the ISBN's indicate the same publisher.  And, distributors do not get their own ISBN, only the publisher.

Here is the official line on publisher prefixes from isbn.org:

Once an ISBN publisher prefix and associated block of numbers has been assigned to a publisher by the ISBN Agency, the publisher can assign ISBNs to publications it holds publishing rights to. However, after the ISBN Agency assigns ISBNs to a publisher, that publisher cannot resell, re-assign, transfer, or split its list of ISBNs among other publishers. These guidelines have long been established to ensure the veracity, accuracy and continued utility of the international ISBN standard.

So I guess to infuriate Lookwhoitis, I vote in favor of Ghita as a Pacific comic, otherwise we'd have to reassign all the Pacifics to Blue Dolphin instead.

Blue Dolphin and Pacific were one and the same company...I think we've proven that in several ways...indicias, ISBN designations, personnel working with the companies...just because they chose to try to pump the Ghita out with just the Blue Dolphin tag, doesn't mean it didn't come from the merry band of folks we call "Pacific"...
