Here's another personal favorite where in between the full frontals, split beavers, all out multiple penetrations and donkey acts (yes...donkey acts) one finds sections on UG, TJB and even a little Tom of Finland thrown in. The publisher even did jail time for this classic book. Though, if you should come across one of these check it carefully as I've found 2 copies in my searches that had content removed....by whom, who knows....maybe an avid aficianado or maybe from the powers that be....

Found a VF/NM copy of Sex in the Comics by Maurice Horn (1985) at a used book store today. Lots of underground comix relevance and 2 separate full color sections.

Here are some new finds from thrifting this week that pertain to this forum....Our Time is a collection of interviews and illustrations from The East Village Other published in 1972....

OTF">

upon close examination of the rear cover we find.....

OTR">

The roundtable discussion of the UG cartoonists included: Robert Crumb, Spain Rodriguez, Kim Deitch, "Artie" Spiegelman, and Gilbert Shelton. It takes up 15 pages of this 408 page book and it isn't that hard to find.

This item was actually found amongst the children's books at a local Goodwill. I can find no date or any publishing info in it, as there is no indicia. Probably to ward off any overtures from The Charles Schulz legal team....

CCP">

I'd love to find out if there were any other issues either of "Peanus" or just other volumes of Classex Comix. Gotta love them Comix, eh?

About .12 cents a comic with shipping got them in today. great eclectic collection. I'm all smiles.

OKAY I put this in the wrong section (Damn you recent posts) and it won't let me delete. Though the collection has some mature stuff that appears in recent underground price guides nothing truly underground about it in the traditional sense.

There were a handful of Classex Comix minis being sold on eBay (Mature Audiences) on and off. They all sported the same cover as the one you posted but were blank ink on matte paper. I've never seen that particular version before--very cool.

Edit: There's a post on the "other board" about them. Have a look here: http://headcomix.info/forum/index.php/topic,358.0.html.

It would appear someone got ahold of the original issue and printed himself up a bootleg collection from it, and then sold them off....those are cheap copies of the "real" thing it looks like...some colored paper and a xerox and voila! IN BIZNESS! Would you concur? Especially if they are 4 pagers. The one I posted is regular 8.5 x 11 magazine size and has about 32 pages. The large Snoopy/Burt Reynolds is an actual centerfold that folds out, while the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm illo. is not. It spreads over 2 pages, but not at the center. Verrrrry interesting!
