| Gentlemen, I own just about all of the 1980's Marvel New Universe titles. Yep. That's right. A giant slab o' hell. They all sucked to me except Star Brand, DP7, and Nightmask which I loved, at least until the first year or so until the "Black Event" fiasco. But I never lost hope; I purchased newuniversal, and I'm in the midst of reading newuniversal: stormfront. Old habits die hard. But if I ever want to feel like a kid again, I just sit right down and read some old DP7 and Star Brand...instant fantasy brain death. David

| I have that!!! You remember when you could buy like 10-20 comics in a bundle for like 5 bucks? I'm sure that's how it happened.

| Hey matchstein, Thanks for your reply. Boy, do I remember those days. $20 took you far at a comics store. Sometimes they would even have the .25 cent special on back issues where you could find a hidden gem, or diamond in the rough. Now five dollars will hardly get you through the front door. But to answer your question, yep, I bought most of those books years ago at a garage sale for about $10. I stopped collecting for a while in high school and then I joined the Army. I never finished these stories, but I really wanted to. So when I came across these books in the early 2000's I bought them w/o thinking. Little did I know of the stinkers that they started cranking out in the later issues. What a shame. The Star Brand (Ken Connell) had a lot of promise. Oh, well. What do you think about the newuniversal series? It is pretty much the same to me. Weird and actionless, but I cannot stop buying it for hope of a better outcome this time. Call me a romantic... Dave

| Nice. Well, unfortuantely my passion for comics, while has never left me, has been on the backburner for the past couple of years. I started reading/collectiong just over ten years ago when my father said, "Son, you need a hobby. Something to get into." He suggested comics and i purchased my first comic which was DC's Cartoon Network Presents Issue#1 featuring Dexter's Laboratory. This would eventually progress into me buying comics left and right no matter what they were, and of course at the time no comic was more than 2 bucks unless it was a TPB. Needless to say buying like this obviously led to dozens upon dozens of comic titles that are just completely ridiculous and not made by a mainstream publisher. Excuse the short history lesson. i guess what I am trying to say is that while i would love to be purchasing comics left and right, and continuing to follow my favorite stories(Batman, Detective, and Spidey) adulthood hit in the past few years and with responsibility(bills, gas, etc.) having the spare cash for comics hasn't been...happening? I am proud of my 1,000 plus issue collection though and indeed have been lucky enough to obtain some gems during special sales in the past. I'd pretty much love to come across a store with a one dollar any bin back issue special. It's a good way to stock up!
