People think of the great artists they say the holy trinity would be

"Kirby, Ditko, Steranko"

Then next in line would be names like

"Adams, Infantino, Buscema, Layton, Kane, Cockrum and Bryne"

So who do you guys think will be the next great artists 20 years down the line?

The Fuj on censorship...

You know my vote!

BAGLEY!

His art is clean and very sharp.  I havent run into anything that he has worked on that i havent liked.  Team or solo character his art always draws me into the story......also i feel his drawings helps the story move foreward, never confusing...............hey what can i say............im a simple man, with simple tastes.....

Hell i ordered a mastercard just so i could have something else with his artwork back in 97'.

Your list is not very representative of quality sequential art storytellers. Michael Turner? He does flashy covers, which basically all look the same; he can't do a monthly book, and I'm not sure even want him. Greg Land is a tracer who does nothing but fill his pages with porn faces and wrestler poses. Neither of these guys are good storytellers.

Of your list, I think Bagely and Reis are the best. But the inclusion of artist like Rags Morales, Frank Quitely, Dale Eaglesham and the Dodsons would make it much, much better.

EDIT: Forgot Jeff Smith and Terry Moore.

I'm gonna go with Benes and probably Turner and Alex Ross (if he counts)

"Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint.
Give me two and they'll fall in love.
Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'.
Give me four and they'll build a pyramid.
Give me five and they'll make one an outcast.
Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice.
Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home." -Glen Bateman (The Stand)

Not much to choose from. I liked Van Sciver on Green Lantern and Mark Bagely's Spider-Man work was good and though Greg Land's artwork is great to look at, swiping lowers the quality to me.

I second the opinion of Jeff Smith and Terry Moore (Darn you, K!).

I have a personal preference for Van Scriver and Greg Land, though I voted for Van Scriver.  My question though is where is Jim Lee from any of those 3 lists?  Surely he'd be in there on one of them.

I thought this thread was going to ask which "new" artist was going to be the next big thing.

If that were the case without question 100% I'd bet my life on it, Kenneth Rocafort is going to do extremely well in this business not to mention he's one of the nicest guys out there right now!

M. Turner would be my choice. He has a style of his own that is very recognizable. It like Jim Lee's work, you can look at the art and know it's Jim Lee. Same with George Perez. There's a lot of artists out there, and, for most of them, their work all looks the same. There's only a hand full that you can look at the art and recognize it as being a certain artist.
