| So this will be short and to the point. I'm pissed off right now because e-bay hasn't done anything about bid sniping bots. I understand last second votes, but todays example was ridiculous. I've been watching/high bidder on a "So Much Fun" variant issue of Uncanny X-men 221 for the past 6-7 days. Minutes ago the auction was set to end and to be safe I bumped up my bid amount and then watched for the final 4 minutes refreshing every 5-10 seconds. I watched as the timer went all the way down to 2 seconds before I was sniped at literally the last second. I am so pissed because the bid amount was only .50 above my max amount and I would have easily bid more. Whats so damn frustrating is that E-bay is changing around so much of it's site, and really pissing off it's sellers that you'd think they'd take into acount maybe blocking these sniping bots so that people could have actual bid contests, but no, instead some douche bag with a snipe program steals my sale. And it better not have been someone from this site that out bid me or I'm gonna lose it...

I'm going to move this thread into the 'working with auctions' area.
But eBAY is never going to get rid of snippers...And while you may have been out bid by only 50cents you don't truely know what the person/snipe max was.
Even without eBays new rules this was happening...I'm pretty sure many people have faced this problem before but it won't be a concern to eBay when they are just in it for earning money..SO..Whatever gets them more $$'s is fine by them in some respects.

hmm.. don't want to get sniped then bid more...you were most likely outbid by way more than .50 Ebay is just going to show you the next highest bid...if you would have paid more than why didn't you just bid that from the beginning?..D

| Use a snipe program yourself. Enter your max and walk away and wait. Most auctions end when I can't bid, so I have to use a snipe. The last book I won, I was on the highway pulled over for not having my taillights on when I won the book.

I understand what you're getting at Havok. It's like hunting when you're the only one without a machine gun. I've been there, and it sucks.

Just enter your highest bid right off the bat and let the auction run its course. Sniping will not take the auction from you if your bid is higher. Don't assume an auction with no activity for 6 days is gonna be safe. Lastly, don't put in low bais that you think will win. 99% of the time they get taken from you.
