I'm not happy. Got "Learn How Dagwood Splits the Atom" (1949) from Diamond...

1st I'm a bit bothered, cause it's $7.00 to ship one comic - and then it gets sent UPS Ground - taking a week. How crazy is that?

The comic includes the original mailing envelop - sweet - now I need to figure out where it was advertised, something must have a mail-in offer

Awesome, huh?

But the flap is tucked in - so the envelop glue is touching the comic - doing this to the back cover

yes, that's a tear, and missing paper, and a couple hardcore creases...

Does that count as "VF+"??? I expect poor grading from Joe Moron with a single digit feedback. But this is Diamond Comics - handlers of high grade comics - they should know better.

I sent a note, wonder what'll happen...

That's a bummer Robbie. I hope you are justly compensated.

$7 to ship? For one comic? AND it took a week? Don't like it.

Yeah, that is very bad. Definitely not a VF+. You want a partial refund right? I mean, that thing has gotta be super hard to find. I wouldn't want to give it up.

What are you gonna do?

I have never dealt with Diamond before. Is this your first experience with them?

I truly hope that it works out in your favor Robbie.

I won another one from them 3 days later, for $12 cheaper ($19.95 + $7.00) - still waiting for that - UPS Ground is the slowest legal method to ship goods in the US...

I'm guessing they scored a stack of them, wonder how big of a score...

I'd be happy with a particle refund or a replacement copy. Sure do hope the next one doesn't have the same problem...

Well you should have satisfaction then,

Very soon. If I were you, and the other one arrived gimped up...then I'd be VERY VERY angry. They wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

If these Diamond guys do so much business, why the shipping rip off? Insurance? Expensive packaging and protection (styrofoam popcorn, etc)?

(Diamond is where your comic shop gets their new comics from, Steve Geppi's company, he's got a huge collection and has set many records for highest price paid.)

Somehow UPS is easier for large volume dealers... Topps does the same thing, but they don't send "ground", since it costs about the same as air. UPS has a fairly high lowest price for shipping...

I avoid buying from all those guys - but once in awhile I get sucked in. (Topps is pretty fun to buy from.)

Oh,

THAT Diamond. Yep, I know them. Never done any business with them at all. I wonder why they won't ship UPS air if it's the same price and faster.

Sucks.

Well if that don't beat all,

Them boys got sand. Really classy. I guess the shipping cost is worth dealing with people that got standards.

Congratulations Robbie. You're a good hand; you deserve to win that one. You didn't even get all beer and skittles about it.

Hey!

I just copped this one! I am really looking forward to this:

It's FVZA promo comic signed by the author, the horror master himself, David Hine!! I enjoy his work. COST: $10.15!!

I sure am in a feeze about the new FVZA mini-series that's afoot right now...I'm signed up for the entire run. FVZA stands for Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency. There's lot of buzz on this book and I can't wait for #1 to come in! Each comic has 64 pages and it's only $4.99!

I've been frequenting the website for about a month now. It's got a lot of real cool stuff. Check it out: http://fvza.org/

ENJOY!!
