The Joker (5/15/2008)
Actually that is not quite correct. It says "Restoration Includes cover reinforced." which means what?!? There is other restoration they can't detect? Or they just don't list? That is the crappiest explanation I have ever seen.

Yeah, what does that mean? I've seen that before, and figured it was just some generic copy-and-paste thing.

So what exactly makes Flash 105 so important?  I've heard that issue mentioned in a few posts, but I've never ready why that issue is important.  Care to explain what makes this issue so key?

Well, it's the first issue of his own series. He'd appeared four times in the previous four or five years in Showcase #'s 4, 8, 13, & 14.

The numbering was continued from the Golden Age run of Flash Comics that stopped at 104 (also illustrated by Carmine Infantino) in 1949, 10 years earlier. So it can sort of be considered The Flash #1.

Also, the Silver Age (Barry Allen) Flash was the first of the new super heroes, after a decade dominated by War, Western, Horror, and Romance comics. The big guns never went out of print through that period, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman mostly, but superhero comics were pretty much dead in the water.

Also also, it's awesome!

Ah ok now I get it.  I always figured the Flash books had an official #1 like every other book does, so thats why I was having such a hard time figuring out what made #105 so important.  Very interesting stuff though, and a nice buy.  Congrats on the purchase.
