| I have recently come across a LARGE amount of comics (probably a few hundred) that I seemed to have moved form place to place that belonged to my brother. I am in need of some sort of way to price them out to see if there is anything of worth or should they just be tossed?!?! I have no idea what's in any of these bins but they are way too heavy to push around the garage any longer and my husband is about ready to use them as kindling for our Chiminea. Is there anyone out there that can offer a helping hand? Thanks!

| If they are dated from about 1985 or before check here.... http://www.comicspriceguide.com/default.asp If they are dated 1985 or after they will often be listed at the above link at cover price. It is sometimes possible to get cover price for comics after this date but it is more often the case that comics for this era sell for between $0.25 $1 as singles and less in bulk. Comics from 1997 to 2008 tend to get closer to cover price than comics from 1986 to 1996. Earl.

I am in the same comic book limbo as Daizygirl. My husband was given 4 boxes of sleeved comics. My question is so once you figure out how much they are worth (and what if they are in mint condition) how do you go about selling them without getting screwed?!

You can try Ebay. That way the market dictates the price rather you trying to set.
What's in my long boxes? http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.asp?m=icebreaka

The advice we offer is free, and the first piece you should take to heart is "few if any at all of a given 1000 comics are mint."
Secondly, the idea is to get a feel for what you have. Make a list, post it and we will try and help. Be prepared to post individual scans of books we ask about to give you a better handle on its value. Also make sure you are willing to put the time in or you might as well dump the lot on EBay and be done with it. Getting screwed over has as much to do with a person's own lackadasical attitude as it does with someone else's malicious intent.
Where does he get those wonderful toys!
I have yet begun to surrender.

| Thank you for your advice! What info should be on this list other than the comic name, publisher, issue number? And should it be Excel or could I just go with Word? And where do I post it on CPG.com?
