To me, this issue was the best of Loeb's Hush storyline. In fact, I recently sold the entire run except for #612.

It's such an interesting take on Superman and Batman fighting one another. Bruce and Selina's solution to stopping an Ivy-controlled Superman was brilliant and very clever. We got to see Bruce's strategy for stopping Superman, which basically amounted to stalling until they could figure something out. Superman shrugs off a punch with a kryptonite ring, and then picks up a car telling Bruce it's time to end this: one of my favorite Superman/Batman moments!

I really liked this whole story line for many of the reasons you pointed out. Actually went and bought the Absolute Batman Hush. Seeing those covers in that oversized ediiton makes it worth it if you are a fan of Lee's art in that series!

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of the Hush run. Not that it wasn't good or anything, but I've read better. The art was great (I'm a big Jim Lee fan)...The story was nice...But I just don't understand why everybody adores it so much.

I'll have to re-read it as I don't even remember much of it other than the conclusion.

I wasn't commenting on the entire Hush story, just issues #612.

But as for the entire story, I liked it. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, but the ride was full of surprises and action.

But $612 is a fantastic comic. When I was selling a lot of my comics, I had to sell the Hush story incomplete; I couldn't let go of the Superman/Batman fight. It's an issue I can see myself reading pretty often.

I agree with you on this book Auburn Tiger. really dug this fight between Batman and Superman. I have about 12 short boxes dedicated to DC now but I had virtually nothing from DC before Hush. It sparked an interest.

The art was awesome, big Jim Lee fan.
Story was good but not great, ending was a little anti-climatic for me
