There was a Fantasia feel to the it (silent with music) and the evolving narrative of the story reminded me of the Monty Python cartoons just never as silly. But since Dali came first maybe I am just now seeing his influence on the MP material.

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

So a) was it any good? and b) did they happen to mention whether it was still going to be released on DVD anytime soon? I'm envious, but not sure I'd go as far as to leave land to see it. Thanks for the update, though, hopefully it bodes well for the future!

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

I just saw the Destino film on my last cruise. Park West auction house runs art auctions on the cruise ship and in conjunction with a new set of Destino prints they ran the Destino short with an introduction by Roy Disney. It was interesting to see the Dali style animated.

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

My Disney "grail" is not a book, but rather a film....I've always wanted a pristine, studio grade copy of their 1946 short "The Story of Menstruation". My copy is about 10th generation, and I'd like one of at least the quality of the material in the Disney Treasures tins that compile stuff like the WWII stuff and it's ilk! I'll settle, though, for the Disney-Salvador Dali collaboration "Destino" in factory grade! I've heard that a legitimate release was at one time imminent but with Buena Vista, who knows? That was a couple of years ago.

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

I don't have a grail book per say but I do have all of my Mothers Disney comics from when she was a child. They are great to read. I have over 100 of them. Haven't read any in years and the condition of most is good since she read and reread them. Love the artwork.

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

Yeah "Pluto Saves The Ship" doesn't book for a lot, but its REALLY tough to find!

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?
jim1968 (4/2/2008)
Then you don't have a "Disney Grail"!
I still want the 1st Carl Barks! :D
1st Carl Barks would be simply amazing to own! *drools*

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

Then you don't have a "Disney Grail"!
I still want the 1st Carl Barks! :D

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

I dont really have a "Grail" for any comic...yeah there are books i would love to own...but nothing that I would have to have..

RE: Your Disney GRAIL?

Yeah...I have two or three Donald Duck or Uncle Scrooge.
