Well, Uncle Scrooge # 384 from Boom! is now out.

It's like yeah, new scrooge. With stories I've don't already have ten copies of.
But it's also, boo, boo, boo! Four covers!!!!!! ARG!!!!!!:angry:

And they know they can get away with it because us complete-ists, yeah, I have a full run, will get all four covers.

It makes me sick:sick:

Found this little number in a junky antique store (my favorite kind) Sioux City, Iowa of all places.

It is the size of a paperback (7 3/8" high by 5" wide) with a cardboard cover like a paperback book. 255 pages. Published in 1977. It is strange in that every other page is in color alternating with black and white. that is, pages 6 & 7 are black & white, pages 8 &9 are in color, then 10 & 11 are black & white again. Weird.

But fun.

So, it's Nov. 2008, I'm enjoying this month's Uncle Scrooge, and we haven't seen a Disney comic sense. (Not counting the new ones from Boom, which are based on Pixar movies.)

Any Idea out there what happened, or is this just like the several other times in the past 30 years were Disney comics went on hiatus while they argued out various copyright issues?

Saddened and Annoyed.

Trouble identifying a Walt Disney Comic - not showing up here at CPG

I've been cataloging my small collection and haven't been able to find this particular comic in the CPG database or elsewhere in internet searches: Gold Key, Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse Club "All Time Favorites" (includes "The Grasshopper and the Ants," "The Three Little Pigs," and "The Brave Little Tailor." There is no issue number. It simply shows the last copyright of 1963. I've included photo of cover and the inside info on publishing. Help?

The Hyperion hardbacks are beautiful...and Border's threw them on their summer clearance racks for $1.00 each! :D

My father-in-law found some old comics in a bag I joined CPG to see what there current worth might be. I have found all but 2. One I am looking for is Walt Disney's Comics and Stories It has Donald,Huey,Dewey,Louie,Uncle Scrooge, and two other ducks on the cover the boys are in a runners stance and Donald is shooting off a pistol which is a water pistol. Does anyone have and information on this one. It says it was printed September 1976 Vol 36 No 12. Any info would be helpful thank you.

Hello one and all.I've lurked here a bit and thought I would jump in.I got hooked on this board when I found the Pacific Comics thread.It inspired me to finish up my set(need 3).

I usually hang around the corral and lurk a bit on the cgc board,every once in a while I'll butt my nose in on the feebay comics board.I've sold there for 6 years and pretty much given up on it.Looking for a viable alternative but it doesn't look like there is one.

Anyway,I'll be back!

Hardback Disney books

As I go through my older disney comics..Moreso Gladstone than others..I keep seeing these hardback books for sale...I wish I could have collected them as a child but mylord the exchange rate would have been terrible.

Does anyone have these libary collections at all?

So, the question is: how many whitman rares are there?
I can remember reading an article on them, probably published in an old CPG, which, of course, I no longer have.

I know of the five disney (because I have them):

Super Goof 61
Uncle Scrooge 179
Mickey Mouse 208
Donald Duck 222
Comics and Stories 480

So, are there more whitman titles of that era, which are considered rare?

Bugs?
Tweety?
Little Lulu?
Chip n Dale?

I'm guessing here.
I figure the Disney are the most sought after, but what else is there?

What are mint disney comics worth? golden age

I have a couple of Walt Disney comics and Stories that are absolutely in mint condition. They came from Cherokee Book Store in Hollywood and were purchased in the late sixties. A trunk of golden age comics were found back then that contained a thousand or so mint comics from the forties. The issues I have are December 1949 and July 1945. I am thinking about running them on Ebay but have no idea what they are worth. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Corrected Walt Disney Comics and Stories #351-360...the "Giant Poster" run...Which is now listed under the publisher "Western Printing Co (Gold Key/Whitman)...a refinement started by Earl, I believe...:D

We now have all of the regular 15 cent cover issues and the 25 cent "Giant Poster Inside" issues listed...and all most all of the scans...:D

You may want to check your own personal inventory and adjust it accordingly...;)

Like the subject asks...Why do you collect Disney comics? I'm not really sure how big of an interest disney comics are to people on this forum..I know they are out there though (^^)

My reason for collecting disney comics...Simply because of cartoons...And I found a way to take Mickey and his gang whereever I went as a child. I guess the habbit was too hard to break :D Strangely I don't feel the same towards WB characters though..I find their comics slightly annoying (unno why exactly).

Gold Key issues 171 and 148 of Uncle Scrooge

I just happen to be reading through a stack of Gold Key Uncle Scrooge comics tonight when I stumble apon issue 148 and 171 have the SAME story in it- "Riches, Riches, Everywhere!"

The rest of 171 has two different stories in it after the main one.

How come there was a repeat of the story? I didn't think Gold Key did that with their issues unless it's Gold Key/Whitman thing.

I found that I have Super Goof #61 Whitman comic. I know it's valuable but I would appreciate any info on it. I also have Donald Duck Gold Key #200 and Walt Disney's Comics and stories #480. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it. Thank you.
