Thanks for recommending the video. I got a copy and just watched Robert Williams talk about the A-Hole and his Yama Yama and low and behold he opens the Panter comic up and shows the 1st page and there's not signature at the top so it appears my copy is a 2nd print. Very interesting interview and good to see my suspicions were correct.

Nice rack Robert has in the video (you'll have to see it to know what I mean).

Happy to have won a copy of Frankin's Armadilla (1974). I've had this one on my searches for over 2 (maybe 3) years and this is the first copy I can remember showing up from that automatic search. I've won from this seller before and the item I got had water stains and was poorly stored, but for the price of less than $12 for this rarity, I can't complain. Must have been a sign but last week I was at a home where a guy had a (nicer) copy of this laying out on his bookshelf...

From the pic. to me it looks like from the same batch as my copies (2nd print) because it appears to me like the glue is coming through the cover. It's actually an interesting (at least to me) story regarding these. So I picked up a group of these from a person that bought out a bunch of George DiCaprio's stock many years ago when he was getting out of the business (think it was about the time his son started getting noticed). So it sat for many years in a bag untouched. I get them and sell a couple, then notice that one copy is different, it has a thick paper cover and the staples have been removed. Examining it I see that on page 7 it has in pencil a 7 with a circle around it that has been lightly erased. The rest of the copies have two thin paper covers (most glued together and the glue over time has stained the cover, a few don't have glue between the two sheets) and the same circled "7" but in ink. I contact the couple people I've sold to and let them know that I think they may be bootlegs and offer a refund if they send it back. One person did and the other wanted to keep it. Then I contact Gary Panter directly and he tells me this, he said George is his buddy and distributed these for him and that he authorized him to reprint it. He said that the 1st print had (I think) 100 copies only and when those sold he told George he could print some more (I think a 2nd run that was even less than the 100 original run). So now you know that the 2nd printing has 2 thin paper covers (and a circled "7" on page 7) and George printed it himself. I have the 1st print that was used to make the 2nd printings too (pretty unique item).
I see that the 1st print copy of Panter's ******* I have has a signature on the inside 1st page that is printed this way so I thought it might actually be a 2nd print from a real signed copy, but the only other copy I've seen (GoodDr. at SDCC) had the same signature in it so I'm not sure if the original had the signature at the top or not.

Kennedy listed the artist as being unknown, so I'm guessing there's no evidence of a signature. I don't have a copy, so can't say for sure.

I'm really excited about having won this one-of-a-kind British underground comic, circa 1970-1973, entitled, "[url=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270532650298]King Greaser Comix #000[/url]." The entire thing is original art, sort of like a sketchbook.

I managed to locate the artist, who told me that he would create these Crumb-inspired comic books as practice, between '70 and '73, though he never sought publication, which is a shame.

Many years ago I was at a book show here in SF and Alan Cohen was there with the Oracle book hot off the presses in the regular and ltd editions. I remember looking at the book and wishing I had the $$ then to but one, but alas it wasn't to be the case and it's one of those books I've always regretted not picking up. They do turn up 2nd hand every once in awhile, but now I'm kind of done paying big bucks for books, but since my wife and I do have a store, we are constantly on the look out for a copy. Stranger things have crossed the threshold....

You might be right about the issue number... There's a Buy it Now that shows the one I bought and says it is issue 10, but they could be wrong. I guess I'll know for sure soon enough, since the CD is on its way.

That hardcover book is the "Facsimile Edition" and it is pretty awesome. It's a massive book, 23x13 inches, with full size reproductions of all the Oracles on archival paper. Amazon has a few in the $400 range, but everywhere else (Abe's, eBay) I see it going for $500 to $1,250. The CD you have (and I'm getting) contains the same stuff, including the narrative and editorials from the book, but as an old-schooler I think the hardcover would be the ultimate way to enjoy the Oracles. Even better than the tabloids because of the fragile paper stock of the originals.

But damn, what a helluva book to properly store in your home... So freakin' big.

I always wanted at least ONE original San Francisco Oracle tabloid. Picked up issue #10 for $67 and it looks like a decent grade. At the same time, I ordered one of those CDs that has digital images of every page from all 12 of the Oracles. I'd rather have the other 11 tabloids or at least a facsimile hardcover, but that would cost hundreds if not over a thousand.

But it will be nice to have this one original:

I was watching those lots that seller had listed and my snipes lost out on all 3 lots that had color variants (only the Mr. Natural #2 had it listed as so), the big one was the Legion of the Charlies (yellow cover) which my snipe was .66 cents more than the winning bid so I didn't have a high enough bid increment. Congrats on the win.

As for Flesh #1, I think those can be purchased directly from Brad Foster's Jabberwockygraphix site. I recently ordered from him the missing copy of Stuff to complete the run.
