Gov't Mule had an awesome poster for their "end of tour" shows at the Fillmore. They also had a cool poster for sale.

i was buying posters right up until my last daze in Baton Rouge.

i filled a 13x19 art portfolio & bought about 15 uncut proofs, most of which is still packed away from the move still.

I have a few of The Rick Griffin posters from the Fillmore, and almost all of the Greg Irons and an interesting video-cassette that was put out by a guy named Ben Friedman who owned the Postermat store in SF and used to sell original posters really cheap until sometime in the late 80's early 90's. I also collect the posters put out by Survival Research Labratories in the 80's and 90's advertising their spectacles...not quite as colorful as the Fillmore/Avalon series but quite fetching in their own way!

So does anyone out here, besides myself, collect posters from the 1960's?

my grandpa owned a movie theater in sacremento. he got reverend horton heat to play a gig there, it was great.

i collect his posters from shows that i've seen, so we meet for coffee this morning so i could buy the Widespread Panic Jazz Fest poster and another poster. usually i see him at the shows, but a few times we have had to meet up. once we got to chatting & i found out he liked old underground comix (and knew what they were), we went back to my place and looked at comix, posters, & chillax'd on the j'zoint for 2+ hours. a total fanboy bonus this morning as i was home from work trying to coordinate some drywall repairs.
