Awesome, amop. Thanks for the post. Crumb is in quite a few museums these days, and it's nice to see he made it in Chicago.

I don't know the age of publication of the above scanned Tj Bibles, they were my father in law's. My guess is that he picked them up in his youth around Iowa City or out in Utah at the army base he was stationed at in WWII, so I assume they're from the late '30's or early '40's..

Some more eye-candy.

I first saw Space Dog in Cocaine Comics #2 in "Iceworld". I did not know he had a comic so I was stoked when I came across this.

The Space Fantasies was a comic I had seen mention of in the "Illustrated Checklist to Underground Comix"....another good score. Mine is so clean I'm guessing there are a stack of these some where.

Old Mill,

It's hard for me to see the corners on the cover of the Zap (Dang thing makes my eyes cross), but looks sharp. Back has some slight discoloration at corners and edges, but not too bad. Just a couple non colour breaking creases back there.

EDIT: Looked again at the back. I didn't realize how deep that crease is at the top spine.

Perhaps strictly on specific defect, that should drop this down to a 7.5 tops. I HATE grading a book that is otherwise beautiful on one back cover defect.

So, I think an 8.0 would be about right. I can't imagine any lower than an 7.5 from what I've seen. Really, I wouldn't be surprised by an 8.5.

But, please don't take my word for it. You might ask one of the more accomplished graders from the 'mainstream' section to look it over.

Very jealous......
