Thanks for responding to my post on the other thread about the old Dells. I guess this topic will either die fast or (fingers crossed) live long and prosper.

I am currently up to 246 issues. I am pretty picky as to condition, usually holding out for VF or higher, sometimes I settle for a nice eye appeal VG to Fine depending on the scarcity of the issue.

Why do you like these comics??? I'll tell you the reasons I do as there are several.

1. For as scarce as they can be, they are very affordable when compared to super hero comics.

2. NO ADS

3. Vibrant colorful front covers and 100% comics from inside front cover to outside back cover (most of the time).

4. Wider than modern comics for more space (more bang for your buck).

5. Not the mainstream. I really enjoy collecting things that not everyone else already has. While this reason alone would never get me into the hobby, it is one of the aspects that I do like about it. Although, it also has it's drawbacks too as there are less people to enjoy the hobby with.

Other reasons??

I think it's amazing that from the late 30's to the mid 60's, they were able to put out a thick big comic with NO ads for a dime, when today you get a narrow thinner comic full of ads for 3 to 5 bucks. That's about 30 years without a price increase. Why they ever quit backing the US dollar is beyond me. If we still had silver coins and silver certificates today, comics would probably only cost a quarter each. Of course that wouldn't mean everyone would be able to afford to buy 10 copies of every comic.....but I think it would have kept a much better handle on inflation.

It's only money right??? :)

Star Trek and Twilight Zone Pricing?

What happened to these titles in the GPG?They were there and now not.

http://www.comicspriceguide.com/p-issues.aspx?ZUnC7%2b0a5HNfCAavb4alEbgShIdrRDAJnxsvZL8R22M%3d

http://www.comicspriceguide.com/p-issues.aspx?ZUnC7%2b0a5HNfCAavb4alEQLAg0wQH943uOjjxijNzZg%3d

Buster Brown goes to mars 1958

Its not technically missing but my cover does show its from another department store in another state. It would be cool to see all of them that we come across .Here is mine.

Cheyenne original comics. complete set

Hi,

My brother has been a comic collecter for about 40 years. He has hundreds of comics.
