Keep getting logged out

i log in, see that i'm logged in, and then click on a something like "general comic discussion" and i find that i'm logged out. it's impossible to post something because each time i go to another page i'm logged out. can someone help me?

Adding Graded Comics to My collection.

Need some advise. Whenever I enter a new CGC comic to my collection, my master price to my collection does not go up. The price increases when I add the comic to my collection, then increases again when I change the condition, and then decreases back to the beginning total after I update that issue to CGC graded. Anybody know what I am doing wrong?

Pricing Signature Series Comics

Apparently frequent forum members hate this type of question, but I'll ask anyway (sorry). I have a Signature Series Batman 608 RRP edition that is signed by the creative team of the book (Jeff Loeb, Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair, for those of you who don't know) and graded as a 9.6. I know it might be difficult, but would someone here from CBG like to offer me a guess as to what this book would be worth?

Just wondering how CPG regards PGX graded comics in relation to CGC graded comics...just as good? Better? Not as reputable?

Also, I couldn't help but notice that CPG lists values for comics approximated at 9.4. What if you possess a comic graded higher than that which is listed (9.6, 9.8, etc.)? By what amount does CPG increase the value of the comic (example - add $20 for each concurrent grade, thus if a 9.4 has a value of $20, does a 9.6 value out at $40?)?

Back before the forum change there was a thread asking about a Excel macro that converted the current download able spreadsheet into a more manageable format for totals. I used to have a working copy of it but sort some reason it no longer appears to work on current version of Microsoft Office. Does someone have the file they could resend to me? I would like to make sure mine hasn't become corrupted? Anyone else had the same problem with current versions of Office? It seems like it won't work on versions after 2000.

I have been going on cpg in my school and the next thing i know a sophia anti virus comes up and the school technician comes in telling me to get off the computer because it has a virus. This has happend a couple of times now. It also been happening to my friends. However it only seems to be the main page and the boards are fine, i was just wondering if it was an issue with anyone else?

Comic missing from CPG database

Hello, I am new to the forums but not new to CPG.

I looked in the database last night to add an issue of a Buffy The Vampire Slayer trade paperback and I could not find it on the list nor in a search.

It's called Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Note From The Underground and it was published in March 2003.

Also the past few days I have been having some issues with looking other things up on the database to add and they don't show up in the list. For example I went to look up some Amazing Spider-Man issues and on page 6 of the list there is a gap between issues. The following issues do not appear in the list. #409, 410, 411, 412, 413, 414,416, 418, 419, 422 to 433, 435, 442 to 508, 510 to 524, 529 (1st printing)

That's just n example of the problem. I have encountered this with just about every search I do lately.

Can anyone shed some light on what's going on and how to fix this?

Some titles won't let you add, others like Black Orchid (1988-1989) only list issues 0, 1, and 3 (no #2) AND I can't add any of the issues it does list.

I don't know what kind of work could be going on that would cause this kind of chaos, but it would be best worked out in a test environment. I am pretty much dead in the water as far as getting any work done today.

Sorry if it's been asked but how can I get my old post count added to my new one? I used to be Vaderbat....

For some reason, I cannot successfully add a Daffy #7 comic (Dell 1958-1962) to my collection. It just turns blue next to the issue when I click the "add selected" button. There is no "1 issue added" popup either. It just does not add the issue.

I could not find an issue of Fury No. 885 from Dell four color.

I also could not find the title "The Adventures of Robin Hood". I have issue No. 7 published by ME September 1957.

"error on page" is in the status bar after clicking add. I can't be certain, but I don't think it is my browser's fault.

Suggestion for CPG Member section...An Optional "Value Change Alert"

I'm hoping this finds an open audience.

I find it frustrating to find my overall collection's value has change but the ability to specify where the change or changes have occured remains a mystery. The identity of the change must be learned through the trial and error of selecting each publisher to find out which has had a change. When it comes to over 100 publishers in a collect this process becomes a tedious chore. I believe I have a solution:

Upon logging on and first entering "My Collection" section of the CPG would it be possible to have a 30 day alert indicating the change of values in members collections in a dedicated column corresponding to each publisher?

For example: A member visits CPG, goes to "My Collection" where a list of the quanity of his comics are listed by publisher. Rather than having to click each publisher in his collection to discover if there has been a change in value, change of value, though not detailed, can be indicated in a separate column somewhere to the right of the publishers name. Once alerted to a changed in value, found in the "My Collection" section, the member may then further researched what titles have changed in FMV by selecting the publisher. This "change in value alert" can last according to personal preferences set by each individual member. Alerts indicating value change can last 1 week, 2weeks or 1 month depending on preferences chosen be each member. The member can opt in or out of the value change alert at anytime.

I noticed one day a while ago that the cover image for the Venom: Lethal Protector #1 Black/Error Cover counterfeit disappeared. I had e-mailed CPG afterwards but never received a response. What reason would there be for a cover image to be deleted and is there a way it could be retrived?

Whenever some newbie who does'nt even collect comics but wants to know the value of his Wildcats #1 for example comes to these boards I often see a new topic like 'hey whats this comic worth' in the comic values section or else where. Thats what the fricking price guide is for. Admins. lets start deleting those crappy topics as a means of quality control, admins should private message a standard copied brief overview of how to search for a title to that individual. Look through the comic values section and see what these lazy new members who will only come to the site once or twice to have someone else actually look up there comics are doing to our site. This is ruining important parts of the site, and making it a FAR less interesting place to visit, and a million notchs below the CGC boards. Havent you noticed long standing members disapearing from the boards or annoucing they are leaving, this policy can only help.

"Mark all as read" doesn't work

Hi there,
I recently stumbled upon your site and think it's great - I was going to do my own database for my collection (between 5 - 6 thousand issues) which (...cuz I'm that way inclined!) would have involved scanning in all the front covers - now I don't have to!

My question is ...do you offer the same service for UK and overseas users? I've just added my 50th issue, and I'm keen to continue, and tried to sign up for the Premium membership. On trying my payment details (c/card) I got an error message - I just wanted to first check that it wasn't caused by me being a UK user (also on a Mac).

Could you let me know if there are any known problems - I can send a copy of the message if that helps (I was a bit reluctant to keep trying as another post mentioned they'd found that = multiple payments!)

I know that you developers must be busy, but I wondered if there is any kind of ETA on adding the Box Number to the Excel file and getting a more friendly Qty Update method.

It looks like I will probably finish adding the 18,000 comics in my collection before the update qty feature arrives, but it is still critically important because as I start selling the comics I will need to be able to update the qtys for several issues quickly. That is, if I sell a series of books (say 1-25) I will need to decrement the quantities of each issue in my collection by 1 and I REALLY don't want to have to do that with 3 page refreshes for each one.

Another thing that concerns me is that the box number has still not been added to the Excel download and that request was put in quite some time ago. Is this going to be added soon? The reason I am asking is I am about to start "boxing" the comics, but if the box number is not in the download file, I don't want to waste my time doing it through this website.

Finally, I would really like for there to be a unique (unchanging) ID field added to each title in the download file. What I want to do is input my comics in CPG, download them to Excel, convert them to another database format and create my own website for selling the comics. However, I want to periodically adjust the pricing and if there was a unique ID for each title then I could cross reference them with a tool and automatically update them in my "sale" database. I can use the Title to some degree, but when a comic title ends, the year end could cahnge from "To Present" to "2008" and break my link.

Can you give an ETA on boxing the comics and updating the quantities easier and is any cahnce of adding a unique ID to the Excel download file for each title?

Cover scans for your own issues

Looking through other folk's collections, I noticed that
sometimes there are cover scans and sometimes not
even for issues that have covers scans if you look them
up directly in the db. Is this because these are scans
that the person has uploaded into their own collection,
or are the visible scans just the pics from the regular
db, and the missing ones are just missing for some reason
that I don't understand?

I seem to get logged out of main site very frequently, like 10 times a day or more!! I'll be in the middle of changing grades on a long run, and all of a sudden I'm out.

Is this just me or does it happen to others? I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.14 on Windows Vista if that matters.
