It wants to think of nothing, be nothing, and wake up empty with sleep in its eyes. Another is that during waking the brain uses up oxygen faster than the body can replace and is so starved by the end of the day it seeks a bed of branching in order to lay its head on laurel green. And a third says that because the afferent impulses of the neurons are contractile with the dendritic process of the cells that any interruption over time isolates the cortex from external stimuli and as interruptions peak in sync with dark the brain wants to lie all night by fire. The theory of amnesia, involving the loss of tone in the vascular heart of the medulla is too particular, especially since, except in fits and starts, nobody sleeps- though there are children who sleep through anything, even memory and waking, and adults who work the nightshift or the streets who only pretend by closing their eyes, even in daylight. But the vertical brain wants to lie down, beside water if it can or under wind topping the tall pale grasses. It wants to alter its relation to the bed to give up gravity to the ground, to let the mind float out in spirit-bouyant air, to feel, at the foliate edge, the mind relieved. And because it cannot sleep it wants to dream the sexual narrative of longing and connection, the journey of the body in light continually dying, the cold wet morning air silvering down on the night earth warming toward the sun, and then to hear the first bell-clarity of song, which, if you were dreaming, would wake you. - by Stanley Plumly

-Slym

Electrocuted while pissing

Always check for power lines.........

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2011224615_apusurineelectrocution.html

MONTESANO, Wash. —

Authorities believe a Washington man was killed by accidentally urinating on a downed power line after a car crash.

Grays Harbor County sheriff's Deputy Dave Pimentel (PIM'-en-tel) said Monday 50-year-old Roy Messenger was not seriously hurt after he collided with a power pole Friday and called a relative to pull his car from a ditch.

However, family members found Messenger electrocuted when they arrived.

Pimentel says Messenger apparently urinated into a roadside ditch but didn't see the live wire. The urine stream likely served as a conductor, allowing the electricity to reach his body.

Pimentel says there will be an autopsy but burn marks indicated the way the electricity traveled through Messenger's body.

Exercise thread

Did you workout today? Hire a human 'bed warmer'!

LONDON - International hotel chain Holiday Inn is offering a trial human bed-warming service at three hotels in Britain this month.

If requested, a willing staff-member at two of the chain's London hotels and one in the northern English city of Manchester will dress in an all-in-one fleece sleeper suit before slipping between the sheets.

"The new Holiday Inn bed warmers service is a bit like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed," Holiday Inn spokeswoman Jane Bednall said in an e-mailed statement.

The bed-warmer is equipped with a thermometer to measure the bed's required temperature of 20 degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit).

Holiday Inn said the warmer would be fully dressed and leave the bed before the guest occupied it. They could not confirm if the warmer would shower first, but said hair would be covered.

Florence Eavis, Holiday Inn spokeswoman told Reuters that the "innovative" bed-warming method was a response to Britain's recent cold weather and marked the launch of 3,200 new Holiday Inns worldwide.

She could not explain why the beds were not being warmed by hot water bottles or electric-blankets, but admitted the human method was quirky.

Holiday Inn are promoting the service with the help of sleep-expert Chris Idzikowski, director of the Edinburgh Sleep Center, who said the idea could help people sleep.

"There's plenty of scientific evidence to show that sleep starts at the beginning of the night when body temperature starts to drop," he said. "A warm bed — approximately 20 to 24 Celsius — is a good way to start this process whereas a cold bed would inhibit sleep."

Source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34976869/ns/travel-destinations/?GT1=43001

-

I find it kinda creepy!

Anyone keeping their New Year's resolutions?

All the new faces that appear annually at the gym the beginning of each year are quickly fading..................................

Test your new profile sigs and avatars here!

testing testing 123 abc

Listen to this if you can understand the accent

http://tv.muxlim.com/video/oQK13UM3YzI/hold-your-plums-wasy-question-about-left-hand-drive/

The radio presenter asks her what European country do they still drive on the left?

She got the question right in the end, took a long time to get there but she did it.:w00t:

Bit of a problem..It's about customs

Bit of a story but i could use some advice..

Australia now has Click and Ship for international packages..WOO-HOOOO! Like the question says, should I get a Notebook or a Netbook. I was leaning toward the Notebook. Those of you who have either one , what kind and what do you like about it. :)

Happy Birthday StarWarsED

ED

happy birthday :D

Great customer service.

I'm still a little in shock by this. I pre-ordered some comics from a website earlier in the month, and last night as I was going over my bills, money going in, coming out..etc. I realized that the money won't going to be there when they processed that pre-order. I went to the site to find a phone number to call and see if I could get them to push it back a couple days so the money would be there and couldn't find a number, just a page to send them a email. I thought, "Great! Holiday weekend and it's after 10 now...nobody is going to read this." But I filled the email form out and explained my problem anyway.

I check my email about 20 minutes later, and there's a email from them, sent from a real person telling me they'd pushed it back a week so I'd have plenty of time to be sure the money was there. I checked my account on the site and sure enough the scheduled date the order was to be processed had been changed and pushed back a week. I honestly came close to passing out. lol Dang, just when I'd lost all faith in humanity too. :D
