I'm just very fuzzy about cgc time lines and what constutes modern age. Maybe one of you cats at Chicago could check out my ASM 238 and give me a valuable second opinion, because the scans don't pick up any defects. Well I hope to see some of you guys at Wizard World, I'll be the 4 foot tall guy dressed as Galactus, natch!

Modern doesn't just mean current books that need 9.8s. Any books from 1975 till now can be submitted.

I don't get my comics CGC'ed so I don't know if its "worth it." I know some people that do and they like it. I just think its silly to CGC a modern book unless its 9.8+ and you intend to sell it right away.

I'm there Thur - Sun. Get in on Thur, check-in, relax a bit from the drive (detroit to chicago) then go get in line for the doors to open. Last year they had us wrapped down the building outside. I'm a total noob when it comes to CGC grading esp. on site grading. Is getting one issue graded there worth my time? Thanks Kilroy!

ASM 238 is modern. The onsite grading can be picky sometimes. That specific issue shouldn't be a problem.

I just decided I'll be going to Wizard World Chicago this year! It's been about 10 years since my last big con(all WW Chicago). I'm twenty five now, all the memories of the last WW Chicagos were from when I was 15 or younger. I'm so excited, maybe I'll see some of you guys there! I can't wait!

I attended the Wizard show in Philly at the end of May - did anyone else attend? I filled a bunch of holes in my want lists and had a beer with Alex Maleev. Great show, looking forward to going to NYC in Feb '09.

I go for the comics myself and barely make an appearance around the "stars." I mean they list the guy that was Cousin It.. I mean ANYONE could show up and sit at the guys table and say he is the guy that was Cousin It (as long as they are short enough). :D

If people are actually going to meet up drop me a PM or something. Wasn't it 2 years ago when you were all there? I think you all know I'm a normal person, right? Right? COME ON! :w00t: And whoever it was that bought all those sweet *** ASM silverage I want to follow you at the show start so I can land a deal like that (I can't remember who it was, but I wish I had gotten them...).

Yes I just now discovered the little smilies on the right side of chat. And I feel pathetic have I have less than 10 posts when I used to have thousands and originally registered on this site in 2001.

So who is going? I booked my room already (the Hyatt right next door, been there for each of the last 3 years, its a little more expensive than the other close hotels, but its worth it). Still have to buy my ticket though.

I usually drive in on Thursday early afternoon and leave Sunday afternoon.

I've had a lot of fun each of the last 3 years, and I'm not a fanboy or anything, I just like to look through comics and spend money.
