Many buyers do not have the time or money to get access to current selling trends....so sometimes having a BIN price can get you more for a book that may be selling for less...that's just one way....D

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

I used the Buy It Now option on a Captain America #14 and it sold within 3 days.

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

As a buyer, BIN definitely has it's place in my life. I can go looking for a particular issue for a while and either not find a grade I want or a price I can deal with on auction. At that point, I sometimes go for one of the BIN options that hang around forever. If I'm willing to pay something close to guide for a particular book, it's not a bad move at all, IMHO.

Based solely on my own quite limited empirical evidence, I might go so far as to say that the BIN books I've gotten have been closer to the mark grading-wise.

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

I use BIN for the things I sell on ebay except for the comics, I sell them at auction. But sometimes you might make less by using the auction. It could be a slow week and not that many bidders bid on your comic.
For the items I sell with BIN, they sell pretty fast and most of the time dont last the 7 days.

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

It would be foolish of you to add the BIN option when you can get more from auction style. Some people think they can talk their way into a deal.

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

I know but, why would I as the seller want to avoid a bidding war, bidding war means more money. I just thought it was a bit insulting/manipulative to ask me to add a buy it now option.

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

People want the BIN option to get them out of a potential bidding war.

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

i use buy it now and they can make offers.

RE: What's up with "buy it now" ?

Had that happen plenty of times in the past...I got frustrated with people asking for a BIN especially if people had already bidded on the item...I don't really think this is anything new.

I sometimes tell people if they REALLY want my item they'll need to pay big bucks...I just say it because I'm bored.

What's up with "buy it now" ?

I have a few auctions up for some extra crap I'm trying to get rid of. I have had 3 people send me emails asking for a buy it now option.

Anyone know why this is happening? I haven't tried to sell on ebay in years.

gg
