I picked up Preacher because of the Boys, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I, too, enjoy the Boys, but only read the trades....so I will have to wait a while for #3. The idea that the 'perfect' people aren't perfect, and get their come-uppance is a favorite theme of mine. :D

Set, if you like the brazen, brash, violent, and irreverent, you might want to look at Bomb Queen.

It's what Ennis would write if he was a woman. :P (No offense meant to anyone who might take offense.) :hmmmm:

I only have the first 4 issues of Preacher, need to track the rest down someday, great book.

I would say check out other works by Garth Ennis for that gritty and dirty feel & tone. Certainly read PREACHER if you never have...

also check out books by Warren Ellis. He is another one that is a little stylistically "dirty." hehe

Two of my all time favorite comic scribes btw, I wonder what that says about me :)

OK, I think Marshal Law and Bratpack might be good picks after all then. These are both older series though.Nothing current is really jumping to mind at the moment. I'll try to give it some more thought today.

Mwahahaha...I know...Certainly different from the fuzzy animals or cartoon based comics that I normally go by...But hey, I was lent this so I thought 'I enjoyed WANTED so why not these ones.' and yea, I gotta say they are WAY different from my norm but I love that.

So overal..I'm up to issue 15 and have more to read....Reason I like this series....Cause it's out right different from my normal read..It's gritty and dirty..But I love the fact that Supes are "do gooders" but really behind closed doors aren't what they seem and it takes some bad people to keep them inline....I also like the style of writing not scared of swearing and it's being brash with violence.

It's probably a series I'd want to come back and reread sooooo it also means I'm getting a good read.

I have to admit, I find it pretty funny(in a good way) that the Simpsons/Sonic fan of the board is reading and ENJOYING The Boys.:D

If you can be a little more specific about what you like about it, I can try to offer some suggestions.(The "realistic" take on superheros, the idea of having one set of supes controlling another,etc.).The first titles that jump to mind for me are Marshal Law and Bratpack, but if I know more why you like The Boys, those might not be the best ones.

I've been lent a collection of 'The Boys' and have actually been enjoying the series rather a lot..Since I don't usually read these comics I don't know any that are similar to it. I'd liked to keep reading some different comics with the same sorta storyline if there are any?
