This is still a staple and a must read. I have recommended this to so many new readers and they eat it up (no pun intended)....I for one am looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Just finished 52 and I was hoping that they would start fresh from the old characters but they brought back a few of them, although it does seem that some new meat will be showing up next issue.

Plus, the newer stuff just doesn't do the Older stuff when it comes to Walking dead any Justice. The book has fallen off a bit. I don't think Kirkman would draw as many readers to the book with where he's at right now with the writing in the book...compared to how good it was when it first started.

If you choose to make #52 your starting point, you'd be doing yourself a gigantic disservice. Trust me, it's worth it to grab the trades and catch-up as quickly as possible.

I just started reading this series and I started off by picking up the newest issue, #52 i believe... I haven't read it yet but I had gone on to the official site and red the full Issue #1 In hopes to get me started. Now Im wondering if I should go back and read all the others before #52 or is it ok to start with 52. :hmmmm:

I totally agreed, I really enjoied only the first 15-20 issues....I just read issues 30-36 and I was bored. Right now this book is not my top five

I just reread #51...

One thing, what a cop out by Kirkman. I can't believe I just over looked it the first time...but Them being handed a car, loaded with supplies AND extra gas..just because some guy decided to get out and walk around and then get attacked by zombies, and then by chance they happen upon it, is just dumb.

That's really really lazy writing.

Yeah I just re-read it and he says that he has a roadmap to get to issue 300 so who knows how much the first 10 issues will be worth if it ever goes that far.

Funny, but at the panel where the "surprise" was revealed I actually did feel a sort of dread/chill in me. It was actually sad to see him go back in the house in the end also.

Did you also see that Kirkman said he's got enough direction to go up till issue 300. I was thinking it wouldnt even get that far, its good news.

Anyone read the latest issue? My only complaint is that it reads so darn fast. It's like watching your favorite show that is 1 hr long but it seems only like 10 minutes.

Anyone pick up the Walking dead #1 reprint?....Pretty good stuff seeing how the book came to be and all. I swear, this series continues to amaze me...even the specials go far and beyond my expectations.

I STILL dont have copies of 1 2 2A 3 4 5 6 7 8. Walking Dead was the first comic I ever bought a trade for... because I wanted to read it and couldnt afford the single issues. I jumped on relatively early (maybe 8 or so?), but though the price for 1 and 2 would come down eventually, boy was I wrong.

I also want a S/N copy of the Omnibus... It might be easier and cheaper to get a regular copy of the Omnibus and chase down Kirkman, Moore and Adler at cons...

IN the letters page of 47, Kirkman was talking 150...

I dunno how he can sustain the book that long, unless of course he has some evil sheeit up his sleeve.

I think Kirkman has the balls to do it and the talent to pull it off... that being siad he is pretty good at the deceptive misdirection, therfore the fact that he keeps hinting over and over that he might bump Rick off could actually add to his longevity. I presonally don't want to see Rick eat it (or get eaten?) If he does I think Carl moves into the forefront in as the main character?

My fave is Michonne...

yea another great issue. i would say that he wouldnt kill rick but given what happened last issue he might of. I think he just passed out from the infection and the meds. lets hope so.
