I'm always willing to keep this one moving (at least starting after next week-end, kind of too busy this week) but we need at least 5 people to commit to at least semi-regular participation.

I'm Up for playing now I have a scanner :D , I would say a 5.0 for the ASM, I would love to go 5.5 or even 6.0 but just to much accumalation of minor defects, but what do I know I'm new to grading :unsure:

5.5 from me. That crease on the top left corner is the grade killer. Without it I could go 6ish

5.5-6.0 from me. Too much spine wear and between the staining and that top left corner being pretty heavily crunched that is as high as I would go.

It seems to have full gloss and I pressed every indent out of it . This comic was well cared for except the stain and crease. That crease is what kills it IMO and the spine wear doesn't help.

I can see 6.0, 6.5 depending on how the gloss held up on the cover. (Never can tell, even using a scanner.;) ) Nice ASM, M-CPU!:cool:

Ok so this just came in the other day and I will probably be off on this one because it looks really nice but has 2 big issues. I am thinking between 6-7.0 range.

Pros: FC looks nice. Lays flat, front is perfectly smooth and colors are bright and shiny. White pages.

Cons: Cover misrap, big crease on BC and little bit of Marvel chipping. Stain on BC to left.

The stain you see on the upper right is my scanner needs cleaning bad.

I'm in agreement with the 8.0 - 8.5 though that rust has me a bit concerned.

Master CPU I think is up next. We will wing it for a while as we are down a few players. Random posting is okay for now. What happened to SpeedyD?

Ah, yeah, the staples are actually black, which I would guess is rust. But they're firm and so is the cover, no damage around them.

At first I was thinking I had a 9.0_VF+/NM-, but will now concede to a 8.5/VF+. It is still very nice for its age, and none of the damage is so bad, the very least grade I could imagine was 8.0. (Sorry, M-CPU!;) ) Trust me, if you had it in hand you'd be quite impressed!:cool:

I was thinking 7 since that top left corner is rough but I suppose maybe 8.0 but wouldn't go 8.5 really think its more a 7.5 is my final.:P

Nice book Slay! That looks like a typical 8.0 with hopes of a 8.5 in hand. Most likely an 8.0 with the number of spine stresses.

I don't think I'll ever get this lucky again on a pre-94 copy, especially for $25. What you see is what you get damage wise... a little in the upper left and lower left corners, a bit of discoloration on Marvel Girl in the box, some very light spine lines, and the faintest loss of gloss. ;)I think it was money well spent!

All four corners show a good amount of wear to keep it out of being a true very fine. 7.5

Well I would say 7.5 but since your honest and mentioned the wrinkles I will go 7.0 We really should disclose wrinkles that dont show in scan. The date stamp doesn't bother me but all 4 corners have takin a hit.:hehe: The back looks really good as do the staples. :D

Great find, Soldier!:cool: 8.5 maybe, but I'd lean toward the 8.0 because of the soiling; the upper left corner is visibly deteriorating, and the upper right corner looks like a light crease also; and the stamp also takes a hit (in my book, I'd like to slap all the goofs who thought stamping a comic was okay:angry: ).

To be honest, depending on the soiling, you might be looking at a 7.5... but of course with it in hand you have a better idea of how good it is.;)

Sorry for the delay. Holiday week-end etc...

New comic, Hulk 182 (second Wolverine). Very solid but light creasing and some light wrinkling keep this out of the 9's but an 8.5 is still a possibility. Flipping between an 8.0 and 8.5 myself on this one. The smudge in the word balloon on the cover seems more like a soiling than a stain.

lol, you know that CM was a train-wreck, M-CPU! It has more wrinkles than my grandma and the covers disconnected... which by itself practically shoots it down to a 2.0!:cool:

Too much going on there to be a VF in my book. Front bottom left corner looks rounded . That back looks mangled. Pressing might fix it and I would be happy to press it for you for free. :D For now I give it a 6.5. If back was perfect then I think it would be a 8.5 maybe 9.0 ?

I think I undergraded this one. The main thing it suffers from is an impact dent on the top corner that is apparent in th back cover(NCB) and a couple of spine nicks. Nice copy with blazing white pages and sharp corners. Never pressed a book, this would be a good canidate.

edit: on the back cover it looks like something funky is going on at the bottom edge. Nothing shows up in hand, scanner strangeness...
