The following month i picked up 30 daredevil issues between issues 192 and 259 for about $1 each (very fine to near mint condition) not including doubles.
And if that wasn't enough i bought issues 131 for $20 and 168 for $40 (very fine condition, maybe higher). Mind you this was in the Australian dollar.

Out of all my comic investments these where probably my pride and joy.

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

I say if there is less of a buzz then it's the PERFECT time to be collecting the series/runs...Means people who are selling will probably sell their books for lower prices especially if they want to get rid of them....AND you want the collection so it means more of a chance of socring the issues you want and quite possibly make it easier to get the harder issues as well.

It's perfect timing :) Also by the sounds of it you'd be collecting this for a personal stand point so it's even better reason to do so than wait for the 'buzz' if it happens again.

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

Totally in agreeance with you guys. I spent 2007 really working ASM but it eventually just gets so pricey. I've always liked DD so I switched gears and really snapped up a ton of them for decent prices. I finished vol.2 easiler and vol.1 I must have close to 90% now. There are some great books in there but few really up there in value. I got #7 earlier in the year for a mere $40 in a 4.5 on Ebay this year.

I've seen #1 in 4.0 range for $350 ish often which is ludicrous when compared to other major characters of the era.

As far as overall value I can't say it will go up noticeably unless they do a reboot like the Hulk. Any true comic fan knows that movie suffered from some of the worst casting yet in a comic movie. A darker Frank Miller directed DD would do loads at the box office.

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

i find daredevil to be really undervalued. Especially the #1. very cheap towards other #1 or first appearance SA marvels.

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

no not a good idea. go away. buy something else. j/k i am only saying that cause i buy daredevil and the less people the better until i get multiples of the first issues.:D

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?
colorpit (6/10/2008)
I'd love to have a full run of Daredevil.......and Iron Man....and ASM....and HULK......and FF......and X-men..........and The Punisher.......and Captain America....and Thor...........
Of course I like looking at the Silver Age ones more than moderns.....but if I had the money, I would have full runs of them all.

I think Daredevil is undervalued when compared to the others........ so I would say go for it!!!!
I think we may be clones! I only wish I would have been more active on my Iron Man run before the movie came out. Oh well, I'm going for the DD run, but I'll still buy whatever SA stuff I find at good prices.

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

I'd love to have a full run of Daredevil.......and Iron Man....and ASM....and HULK......and FF......and X-men..........and The Punisher.......and Captain America....and Thor...........

Of course I like looking at the Silver Age ones more than moderns.....but if I had the money, I would have full runs of them all.

I think Daredevil is undervalued when compared to the others........ so I would say go for it!!!!

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

Daredevil is still undervalued, very few issues are identified as "keys".

I don't think DD will shoot up in value soon, but it's pretty solid long-term...

(Wish I would have bought 131 & 132 10 yrs ago...)

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

thanks for the advice guys, I know that I like the title, I really dig the old issuses, but if I'm going to start throwing down large chunks of change because I only buy high mid to high grade I at least want to know or think it will increase in value. I've alreadly read the first two essentials so I like to keep attractive copies to go along with the trades, plus its an easy run now that my ASM run is wrapping up. I at least know I'll buy a mid grade Daredevil #1, and 7 soon maybe at the WW Chicago.:D

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

I agree with Rock, if you are interested in working on the run, go for it.

I can't say that Daredevil is undervalued.....it simply does not have the demand that other SA titles have. I would say that it probably deserves to be valued higher....so perhaps that may change in the future.

RE: Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

In my opinion, Daredevil's have always been an undervalued title.

If you like DD's or want to finish the run, go for it. As far as future values goes, who knows ?

Always see a lot of good deals on E-Bay.

Is it a good time to buy Silver Age Daredevil Comics?

I'm always on the look out for Silver age Marvel books, and purchased a bunch of SA Daredevil books. I was wondering what you guys thought of buying SA Daredevil now. Theres not much buzz or anything around the old issues or anything regarding a movie reboot and I'm not sure if Marvel owns the rights to it or not. plus, I'm not sure if Daredevil books will be desirable down the road from now. I'm not to sure if I shold keep buying and try to complete the run. Any advice would be very appreciated!:D
