I have been trying to stay above 4.0 or better. Sometimes, I can't find certain issues, and may/might give in and just get a copy to complete. Once I do that, (complete a run) then I'll just keep an eye out for a better copy later, and upgrade it.

To me, 4.0's still have great eye-appeal. And depending on what is making it drop down to a 4.0, they make real nice and affordable copies. Some of the keys, I would never be able to afford in super-high grades. So, I just set my own standard to 4.0's that I can afford and still have nice looking copies.

RE: Maverick's Back Issue Buys

Hey mav

is there a minimum grade you are buying to complete your set?

Come january i'm going to start on my avengers set and on the golden age willing to go as low as 5.0

JJ

RE: Maverick's Back Issue Buys

Thanks JJ!

Just go back 1 page, I have an updated listing. If that. I'll list #'s later.:hehe:

Oh, and on Friday, I'm gonna check out some books/collection that some guy has and wants rid of badly.

This guy buys lots, like from storage buildings from where people didn't pay their monthly bill. He told me he knows nothing about comics, and just wants to recoup a little from what he had to pay out. I asked him if they were in bags and boards and he said yes. Let's hope there is something good in it!!

RE: Maverick's Back Issue Buys

very nice. i STILL haven't bought the GA guides.

RE: Maverick's Back Issue Buys

Just in....

Gerber photo guide vol. 1 & 2 and Marvel 1 & 2 ( Gerber 3 & 4)

& the Standard catalogue of comics (comic buyer guide version 4)

RE: Maverick's Back Issue Buys

cool

i quite buying comics for about 2 months. my last bid is on a startling comics in the comiclink auction.

RE: Maverick's Back Issue Buys

I got in a Showcase Comics #56.
