isn't neat stuff selling a complete run of archie (1-present) including pep 22 for 50k? it is at SDCC.

Buying a whole run at once is tough even when you find them because the whole run isn't going to be in the best shape you are looking for. Finding your runs one at a time in the condition you want is half the battle. Enjoy it. trust me when you finally get your run complete you'll know its your collection not someone else that put it together for you.

i love it..speedy-d ,man i just cracked up at your comments...i use to love the hunt ..now, whatever your looking for it's out there in lala land..let me know what your looking for if kor can't help you i will...piece mealing a set is really the heart of collecting imo..in the past i

really could get what i wanted now it's outta my price range...and that is what i want to rectify asap.... as for near complete to complete runs i've seen it on ebay all the time for the past 3 months... problem is the reserve is never met...guess who?

I'd say that over the course of a year there are probably a few toseveral full or near full runs of each major SA title that show up.

But not just eBay. If you want to complete a full run of something, contact any dealer of note and most would be happy to sell a run of junk SA Marvel books. Dealers probably usually only sell the same keys over and over, with some non key mid run issues. If they can dump a full run of something to get rid of a bunch of filler issues, most would jump at the oppurtunity.[/quote]

So who's a "dealer of note?" I've got contacting to do! I don't want any full runs, but if there are people sitting on some of the comics I'm looking for, I need to rectify that situation pronto.

I agree, it's the thrill of the hunt! I compare it to trying to put together sets of old Non-Sports trading cards. Sometimes I would buy a complete set if it was offered in decent condition and price, and it never seemed as fulfilling as tracking it down piecemeal. Don't know why that is, but I could almost feel it at the base of my spine. It gets more intense when you get down to those last few elements needed.....don't get that buying completes! You see full runs on ebay every once in a while, but you also see alot of almost full runs as well. I totally agree with KOR that piecing together runs is not the cheapest way of doing it, but it is alot of fun!

I haven't run across any full runs for sale. But KoR is a seller (therefore a different kind of buyer), so I assume he gets comics from many places other than eBay.

I'm having fun finishing my collection of Flash comics. Actually the last three are getting annoying, but that's not the point. I'm thinking that the collecting will wind up being more enjoyable than the having to tell you the truth.

I sometimes wonder why we go several years trying to piece together any given SA Marvel run in low-mid grade. I have been working on my X-men run since about 2003 I think, and am closing in. But still, after thinking about it...it seems kind of stupid lol I would have been down a couple of years ago most likely if I just saved up the cash and bought a full run in a single purchase instead of trying to piece it together. I can say, that for any other Marvel run I start in the future that isn't in high grade, I will be buying in a single bulk purchase if possible. It is just so much easier and cheaper.
