which do you perfer mylar is a little to expessive for me to do every copy and mylite i can't find out here. do you have some one you can suggest to me to buy from. thanks jesse do you ever have problems with your mylar not fitting in your comic box? every once in a while i get one that is too big.

I bag and board EVERYTHING in mylites or mylar (which I buy in bulk of at least 500). Haven't purchased poly bags since I was in high school.

Congrat on 5000. I started three years ago and just hit 5600. I live in seatlle and boca raton fl so my collection is tough to manage if it wasnt for the site i would be screwed keeping track.

My wife some how knows when I buy so I give up on tryng to store them anyplace elses.

Any how congrats.

do you bag and borad all your comics just wondering I have been, but seems pointless with some comics that aren't worth anything.

I'm closing in on 10,000. The last 5 years has been kinda slow for me, with the bulk of my collection coming in the 10 years prior to that, lots of investment stuff, but now I'm picking up speed again!

I had around 5000 comics (in boxes) in three different closets around my house. I got rid of some, but still have around 2000-2500 - that's less than 10 full "long boxes," folks.

I use 4 foot wide metal grid shelving units. Right depth for short boxes, and fits 4 across perfectly, while leaving enough room to get them in and out easy on the top.

And as far as the 4k in 3yrs....while let's just say they arent all 'investment' comics. :P

4 foot of wall space gives you 30 boxes (about 25-27 longboxes worth of storage). They're too small for silver or bigger... that'd give you a couple year's of growth.

WOW!!!! 4000 in 3 years! I'm REALLY Impressed! I really just recently started REALLY going after the 10k mark in the last 2 years, and I owned 6000+ at that starting point.

Would love to see some pics of your Home Office/Attic room when you get it finished! ;)

She already knows I won't get rid of them...luckily for me I don't collect anything else or it probably would be a big deal for her.

CONGRATS ARGUS! And even more Kudos about the wife thing! How'd you pull that off!?

I'm looking foward to finally getting to 10,000 myself! (Over 8000+ and counting now!)

If I continue at this rate with comics and everything else I collect, a BIGGER house is going to be on the acquisition list. I hope that won't become a problem for you!

BUT... Way to go my collecting friend! Just don't let her talk you into getting rid of them!.

This is where I'm at right now, space is a huge concern esp. when you factor in moving. I've whittled my collection down from about 20 long boxes to only 6. :satisfied: As a result my per issue avg. is about $20 according to cpg.

For whatever reason they look at it as junk or kid's stuff. My friends pretty much all have girlfriends or wives like that, thankfully I am not in that position nor would I allow myself to be.[/quote]

I had just over 3000 comics when I sold them off back in the early 90's. 5000 is alot to keep a lid on. Congrats and good luck.
