First off i'm following in the footsteps of everyone posting on here and figured id start my own with comics i have been buying and what i own. Maybe its best to get an organized thread.
Now i'm not trying to over post but i figured i would stay on this thread with stuff i have bought and stuff im going to get. i don't have a scanner so im gonna post digital pics.
My quest includes buying silver age issues or any key issues and variants here and there.
im a big fan of marvel including spidey and the x-titles.
over time going to be throwing in pics of some of my collection and comic related stuff.
at the same time i'm selling a big chunk of my collection so if anyone is interested let me know!

Like many of you before me, I too once had a topic started about my bargain bin purchases. That topic has come and gone. This is now the home for such said buys.

For starters..... I took a break from work last night and headed to my LCS. I haven't really been there in sometime. But I met one of the guys that works there one night at the local Wal-Mart. Him and I are pretty good friends/mates/what-have-you. He told me that the store just recently started buying and selling back issues again. They haven't been doing this since I can't remember when. So I decided to go and check it out.

I must say, I was pretty disappointed with their current selection of back issues. They only had about a short box and a half of inventory to browse through. However, the prices were pretty good. They were selling stuff for either $1 or $5. Nothing higher than that. Nothing lower either. Didn't really find anything that struck my fancy. I opted for some of their newer bargain books instead.

They usually have a pretty good selection of their newer stuff on sale for $1/each. They are all in pretty good condition. Mainly everything is in VF/NM, and they are all bagged/boarded. Even though they normally sell them for $1/each, they were having a sale on these. They were down to $.50/each. Not much to rummage through here either. There were only a couple of long boxes left, and nothing really mainstream. I still went ahead and picked up a few things. I mean......they were only $.50/each, and I felt like I was doing my part to help the cause.

Now, I know I'm not in league with the Big Boys here just yet; but having my own thread for is also good for ME tracking my back issue purchases.
Normally I go to the LCS to get my stuff, as I am paranoid of writing an E-Bay Horror Story of my own.
But I got these from CraigsList from a young guy that lives across town from me. That way I could inspect them, and he got paid cash.
I got 24 comic books + 2 Ashcans for $25.
Except for the Avengers one, they are all in about 8.5-9.2 condition. This guy must've bought them new, read them, and bagged them, and maybe read them again.

okay I started collecting in 1983 and got my first job at the friendly neighborhood comic book store in las vegas. I was paid in comics, bags and boards. When I moved off to arizona my punk idiot nephew sold my collection for drugs. It took my about 5 years to get back into it.

up to last year I collected all #1's (2) each one for trade and more of a Avengers fan, Green lantern, and golden age collector. But because of cost have cut my purchase for new product in half. Like Pep I get all my back issues from the 5 half price books in my neighborhood. Seattle area.

I really like collecting and enjoy my free time when I'm on the cpg forum. i don't really stroll the other sights, and like the group of people on here.

Okay so this is my little blog. so i hope you like what I write if not well it could be worse you could be alone on saturday night reading your mint copy of NFL SUPER PRO!!

Hello everyone. I am new to these boards, but I know a few of you from outside of here. We all love to show off our beauties, and I hope you enjoy seeing what I have to share. Thanks for having me!

First up is a cool Copper age book by Dave Stevens. Had the pleasure of meeting Dave back around 1989-1990 and it is a shame that he is no longer with us.

If anyone can give me some tips on how to present the scans without adding a link, please let me know. I use Village Photos and can't seem to figure out the correct way to upload my scans on this site.

Yet another new guy thread, but like most people, I want to be a part of something larger. Why not start my own threat? The best part is that even if I'm the only one that looks, I can have a cool conversation with myself, or something like that...;)

I've been picking up some Batman comics recently and have started moving into other DC titles. I have wondered into Harley Quinn and Birds of Prey too. As a result, I got this off of Ebay this weekend to compliment the Batman Harly Quinn that I bought last week.

The first comic appearance of Harley Quinn. As opposed to the first appearance of Harley Quinn in the standard DC universe which was the Batman Harley Quinn book that I got last week.

I also ordered Harley Quinn 10, 17,18 and 19 from my comicshop.com. I'm just missing the last issue now (38). I liked the series best when Kessel was writing and Dodson did the art.

I also got my Futurama 1-10 in the mail today and my first two birds of prey lots giving me 1-42, 45 and 46. To many to picture here, but the highlight is #8.

So, I've been collecting comics for about three years now. It was something my dad and boyfriend at the time got me into, and I haven't been able to shake the hobby. Up until recently, though, I've just been picking up current issues. I decided I wanted to start looking for some of the older books via antique stores, hpb and garage sales.

I'm visiting my grandparents for the weekend and we took a trip to one of the stores here and this is what I picked up:

Not sure how everyone feels about Harvey comics, but I really like them. I got Sad Sack 205 and Spooky 152 for a total of $6. Considering the shape they're in, I don't think I did too bad.

I only recently (just over a year ago) got back into collecting comics. Unfortunately I made the decision to sell my old stuff only months before deciding to collect again. I started buying lots of moderns (real newer stuff), but now have focused most on back issues. Nothing in particular, instead, a wide range of various comics. I'm still trying to get a feel for what I like.

Tell me what you think.
If it's in a picture, I probably have it scanned so let me know if you want to see something closer.

Hey giuys, I know some of you are suyper into collecting these titles, the lcs two blocks down from my house just received a box full of old 10 dells(mostly with Disney characters.) and the first series of Casper the ghosts. If you're looking to add these at all to your collection let me know and I will PM you some pics of them. He's willing to ship.

I am altering my first post so it shows my personal top 10 comics list. Of course I won't say what's on the list until I aquire a copy of each book. My reasoning is because the one thing that separates me from these books is lack of supply....... NONE are currently available on ebay right now.....nor have they been in the past several months at least. None are out of reach like AC#1. I plan to aquire all 10 of these....and I'll fill in the blanks as I do. First one should be in the mail on it's way to me now :D

I thought I would start my own thread. I buy way too many books and felt like showing off a few of my more recent finds. I just got back from a 2 week vacation in Florida and bought over 200 books during my trip.

I found these 2 in a 3 for a dollar bin at a comic shop near my parents house on my trip.

Question About Uncanny X-Men 289

So i just bought a huge lot of Uncanny X-Men comics. A couple were doubles (ones that i already had) which was fine by me, but I was going over some of them and I noticed that Uncanny X-Men 289, the cover of Forge and Storm kissing, one of the covers has Forge with blue hair, the other has Forge with purple.

Can anyone help me with this? Is one a fake, or what? I cant find anywhere that there was a special cover or anything?

Any help would be much help!

Starting with a recent arrival: Twilight Zone #50

I almost never bid if the seller has a rating of zero - it was $0.99 + $3.00 s&h -

Notice the lower corner crease? That happened when the seller stuffed the comic into the plain legal sized envelope - nothing other than the comic in there - glad it didn't rain between there and here... that's the wrong way to ship a comic.

Plus it took him 6 days from when I paid to when he mailed it - that's too slow.

I gave that clown a neutral feedback.

Still a good deal.

In order to celebrate over 43,500 hundred hits and 4,000 on our TEX's Back Issue Quest thread, I thought I'd dream up an even cooler (more cool?) new thread. This thread is dedicated to the moments that really shocked you in CPG back issue collecting history.

There have been several buys, finds, feuds and occurrences that have made me say, "GOTDAM!" over my past couple of years as a CPG member. Now remember, we can bring this stuff up for fun, but it's all love, okay? Alright!!

I just started Back Issue buying and the thing is people collect for different reasons.
