Not sure of any website that shows that so I worked it out for you. Figures are based on Direct Sales market only from 1997 to 2007. Before that it's hard to work out due to the multiple distributors.

This is top 300 titles only so the actual figure including all the really low selling titles that never get reported would be much lower. This is all publishers and is comic books only exluding TPB's and Hardcovers.

Based on Statements of ownership the average in 1960 was 315,853

great report a while back there was a discussion about quanities per isssue and I had said that the average production overall was around 80,000 in the 86' to oo' per issues (keeping mind some where very high but all granted there are some issues in the 400,000 and 500,000 range back in the golden and silver age. what do you think the overall average publigation is now for;

I agree, DD should sell better... I do like CAP better, but it's still one of MArvel's better titles. Great stuff from Brubaker.

A lot of overall dropping going on as a trend. If you look at the 6 month and year percentages almost all books have dropped. Wonder how significant that is to comic book sales as a whole with Marvel having almost 50% of the market.

I fear for Iron Fist most dearly, can't believe this title is still dropping with the rave reviews it gets. Just not many people's cups of tea I guess. Daredevil too is pretty far down for such a great writer and long time Marvel character.

Not bad, but I still wanted this to tank a lot faster. If all those people who *said* were dropping this title actually *did* then I think we'd see retailers slash their orders even more than this at this point.

Spidey continues to drop.

I went into my LCS yesterday. The owner has multiple stores in the chicagoland area. The message was that he has cut his order way back. The guy working the store stated that sales of Spiderman are now LESS then the previous three titles and that Amazing is at an all time low for the chain.

No surprise and what we all expected.

My LCS also has cut their orders on Amazing since I'm not the only one that took it off my Pull. I'm hoping the sales keep dropping considerably the next few months.

Can't argue with that, I asked one of the guys at the LCS yesterday if they had cut back on the ordering and he said they did. They are planning on ordering enough to cover the pull lists plus only an additional 20 -25 issues or so. There are alot of issues just sitting on the shelf form the past 2 months.

It has. Do not be fooled. Look at the most recent data. All that is saving the title now is that all three books have been wrapped into one and that there are incentive variants forcing higher ordering. The book is dropping dramatically and will continue to do so. In the next 60 days, you will see the results as by then the orders should begin to reflect what customers are bying, not what the shops ordered in advance. Given all the books still sitting on shelves, LCS's are still cutting back here.

I keep hoping for Amazing to take a huge nosedive. Maybe it'll start with March now that the first 2 months of pre-orders are through. I really, really want this title to tank. I hate Joe Quesada.

Issue #549 had a variant cover by David Finch, hence the blip. Sales on the thrice-monthly AMAZING are still dropping back and have yet to find their level, but that’s only to be expected at this stage.
