Well, I can't say he NEVER does it, cause he just did in the last issue of No Hero, but I wouldn't say it's a habit with him.I'm expecting a straight-forward(but,hopefully, really disturbing) ending.;)

Just had a thought. Ellis, espcecially with his Avatar books, has done a lot of titles with multiple volumes. Could be that it's just Volume One that is ending, not the entire series. Hopefully I'm not giving you false hope,lol.[/quote]

Hey Z, I have a question. You know Ennis' habits way better than I (because you've read more of his stuff). He doesn't wait until the end of the series to pull an M. Night Shyamalan does he? You know, some big twist that was never even hinted at in the series? I just ask because I just see no way out for the characters. I wonder what situation he'll use for the climax, I think that they'll all have to be in dire peril of course, and what will be the resolution?

I'm starting to get really stoked about this!

Have you read Haunt #1 yet? Mine will be here in a few days. If you read it, what do you think?

I just read Crossed #7. I am moved. Ennis really succeeded in making me care about Cindy and Patrick. I had a feeling that she might lose her son, but not like that. Never like that. He was her world. And she did the deed herself too.

Do you think that she's going to go whacky now? Which way: Terminator or useless? Probably Terminator crazy, but I think that the loss of her son may open her up to better relationships with the rest of the group, and maybe a romantic relationship with one of the guys. She'll be in need, and maybe she'll transfer some of her feelings for her son onto the members of the group...maybe she'll care about them more. Or maybe she'll be vengeance-wracked and reckless.

This issue marked a distinct turn. They are no longer the hunted; they are hunting. The tempo of the story will be faster from this point on, I think. Unfortunately, I can see no other end than total annihilation for the group...unless they find a safe human settlement.

This was a great issue. What's on your mind brother?

Yep!! I finally got my hands on CoH #2. I was really digging it until the end. It was all a dream? A premonition? WOW! What'd you think about that jail-rape?! OUCH!!

My tastes in comics has really matured since I started hanging out with you brother. I'm enjoying stuff I wouldn't have looked at twice a year ago.

Are you thinking about picking up Haunt #1 from Image? I am.

Finally read #6. I didn't think it was THAT bad-you had the flashback to kitrick's family getting slaughtered and the revelation from the old guy(can't remember his name) about his "hobby" before the "Crossing". Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say it was the best issue by a long shot, but it was still fairly gruesome.:D

Also got Church of Hell #2. Now THAT was a good read! How about that scene in the confessional? Nasty!LOL!

I think that the problem is that from #0-#4, Ennis hit us with fast and furious murder, mayhem, and happenings that made us ask, "What is going on? Why did this happen? How are they gonna stay alive?" We watched the survivors kill a bunch of children, we saw them die trying to escape the Crossed, we saw them fight, hide, and run. Now, for the last few issues they seem to be ambling along for no reason, with no reason. We pretty much are studying the dynamics between the survivors more so than watching them actually try to SURVIVE (run, fight, scream, die, explode, get raped and eaten and not necessarily in that order). I'm getting bored. But, maybe when you read it you can shed some light on what Ennis is trying to do for me. Take it easy brother.

I just read Crossed #6. It's another character study. Talk about slow...I'm starting to get pissed. It's good to know more about the characters, I mean who knew that they had a socially unadjusted serial murderer along for the ride? A real wolf in sheep's clothing, huh? But I don;t feel like the story is going ANYWHERE. That's not a sense that I got in the earlier issues. What do you think?

I'm sorry to here that. Especially when you think about how long you have to wait for the good ones to come out anyway. Crossed runs about every month and 3/4, Church of Hell has been out for what nearly 3 months? Chew seems to be running smoothly though. They're gonna get you some 1st prints right?

I'm really bummed. Just got back from my LCS and they were out of Chew #2, Crossed #6 and Church of Hell #2. They are ordering me copies, but that was ALL of my horror books,man! :crazy: I'll post my thoughts on each once I get them though.

Anyways, glad you're digging some of the stuff I've recommended, cause I know you've turned me on to some good stuff too.

I just wanted to let you know that I started reading a great series called High Moon from Zuda Comics. It's really cool! It's about a Detective in the old west who is an ex-Pinkerton man on a mission to kill werewolves. But he's some type of hybrid himself. Chapte one has a surprise ending that I never saw coming.

Are you already checking it out? Man, you done gone and got TEX hooked on some horror comics!

Have you noticed the 2 guys that "don't seem to have the will to survive?" Whad'ya think? Either they'll surprise us and end up being real badas$es, or they'll die in an issue or so. I hope it's the first, because that ice-witch gets on my nerves. You can be strong, but she's a puritanical jerk...who killed SEVERAL kids without a second thought. I dunno, what do you think? She gves me the creeps. I think we'll find out something freaky about her past soon. She's too "perfect." Something's not right.

Well,

I just read Crossed #5. It was...interesting, but very, very slow. I got to know the characters much much more, which is to say I like some of the survivors, and I wanna see a couple end up skull f***ed in pink tu-tus by the Crossed.

With that said, I feel like this is a "quiet before the storm issue," something to really get you emotionally invested in the characters so that Ennis can screw up your world as he massacres them in the next issue. Here's to hoping :D .

the cover looks pretty cool. if I were to see that on the shelf I'd probably have to pick it up.

Not sure who the writer is on Atomic Robo, but it's a great book. The art doesn't blow me away, but it's decent. It's just a really funny, action packed book that,sadly, not many people seem to know about.

check this out..my comic guy was able to get me an advance copy of the FCBD edition of ATOMIC ROBO...has two previews of two new books coming out, one is called Drones, the other is We kill monsters....look pretty good...The AR story is good too...funny...
