Here is the news article relating to the above promo...

Fashion maven Diane von Furstenberg recently launched a line of Wonder Woman-inspired fashions and accessories at her signature Manhattan store. DC Comics Prez. Paul Levitz was among those in attendance at that kick-off party and gave his impressions of the event on Newsarama’s blog, along with revealing that DC brand manager Cheryl Rubin helped spearhead the project.

The DVF holiday fashion line also includes a matching comic book written by Furstenberg and illustrated by avant-garde artist Konstantin Kakanias. Called BE THE WONDER WOMAN YOU CAN BE, the $25 tabloid-size book features some classic Wondy material, along with the stories of modern three woman, Diva, Viva, & Fifa (DVF, get it?), who become empowered after seeing Wonder Woman in their own reflections. Or something. Topless Robot has a few scans and plenty of snark.

Oh my god! I have to see that comic, I dream of reading it! I'm so curious as to what Cal Ripkens purpose in the story would be. He probally transforms his entire body into iron in refference to his 'iron man' status, or hopefully he simply appears in every panel of the comic, not really doing that much but appearing in every single panel without missing a single one.

That is a special wraparound cover for the BATMAN & CAL RIPKEN Vs. The PENGUIN insert comic. This was a limited print run given away at Baltimore's Oriole Park at Camden Yards in 2007 and celebrating Geppi's Entertainment Museum. It's not a variant. It is just lacking the red 1/2 overwrap which also contained coupons for various dairy products on the back cover. The overwrap was originally stapled to the comic and is made of a slightly heavier, non-slick paper. The comic up for auction is apparently missing the overwrap.

I don't think i've seen this blue cover variant on the "adventures with the dc super-heroes" dairies giveaway before - the version on the dc index site has a predominatly red cover & there's less of the cover picture on show

Some more details on the Mortal Kpmbat vs. DC universe comic - it looks to be available only in the Kollectors edition which is in turn only coming out in the US

I knew there was a comic in this set ( reprints issue 7 of the current run ? ) - but I didn't get one as I have already got the previous boxset, but Spanish? - must have been a miscollation surely

There's a new con-edison giveaway out - see various ebay auctions - "Energy & Safety adventures with the JLA"

I've also picked up two giveaways that I believe are toys'r'us variants - they came with a justice league adventures # 13 toys'r'us marked giveaway but not as a pack so I can't be definite but all are dated July 2003 and all state in indicia "This Facsimilie edition not intended for sale" - none have upc boxes

I was just looking through hake's price guide to character toys ( first edition ) & spotted a batman promo that appears identical in format to my "smoking is for squares" flyer - then I went online & discovered a copy had sold only recently through their site

Mine's in full colour.
They came with a plastic play Superman suit for kids in the 1940s.
The blue only printing seems to be one that they made when they simply couldn't afford full colour ink, probably due to the War.

I have all of these including both versions of Tomorrow The World.

I don't have The Twain Shall Meet, not the two obscure ones that Mike Voiles pictures on his site, but I do have another one not listed in Overstreet.

Here's a few scans from my collection ( only one is a giveaway) - I know these are all considered scarce & people like to know how many are about

I finally managed to complete this set a couple of months ago by getting the colour version of "rumble at rampage rock"

I got this "Fat and Slat Joke Book" off ebay about 6 years ago for around $50. I'd always considered it a DC so I was suprised to find it was not universally acknowledged as such

This buzzy #70 was part of a small batch I got off ebay about 6/7 years ago for $3 or $4 each - at the time I hadn't read Michelle Nolan's article describing it as rare & I didn't see Ian's posts offering silly money for it until after he'd got a copy - I could well have been tempted to sell at the time!

A friend of mine was a manager at a KB toys. Once in a while they would have a promotion that gave away comics. He has given me two comics. These comics were exclusive to the store and had the KB toys logo printed on the cover. I have two of the three that I know exist. I have a Star Wars book that has reprinted stories from the Russ Manning news paper strip and a Ghost Rider comic with an original story. The third that I know about is a Daredevil comic that he goes up against a villain named vapora. The comic apparently teaches about the dangers from the fumes of gasoline. I don't have the DD book. I would be interested to know if there are any others out there.
