This is the best comic of the year. No doubt about it, next year, this title will be up for all kinds of awards.

Great art, a super story and a way to make the Marvel Family workable in the DCU (Johnny DCU, I should say).

This may be a better take on the character than Jeff Smith's brilliant Monster Society of Evil.

I bought two copies so that someone else could read this one.

I read the recent preview/review on Newsarama and immediately pre-ordered the first three issues. While I like the idea of Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family in the DC Universe, a lot of injustices have been done to the characters (with the exception of Black Adam) lately, and I think Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam! may be just what the character needs.

I know exactly what you mean offsetting all the secret crisis

I'm beginning to enjoy more and more a simple story well told with a few little in jokes and nods to past continuity

I am actually pretty happy to see this comming out and will pick it up...I loved "Herobear"......

I'm pretty excited to see this book coming out this week. I like Mike Kunkel's work from "hero bear and kid", and to see a 2.25 price tag on makes it an even better buy. That being said I know it's part of the "Johnny DC" line so it's being marketed towards kids, so what? I think i'll enjoy the lighthearted read, maybe to offset Final Crisis. Anybody else on board with me and think this will be a comic they won't miss?
