| 1st of all good choice, welcome to the dark side. Start with Sinestro Special and go from there. GL 21-25 GLC 14-19 There are 4 one shots but dont really matter, but some are good. (Superman Prime) Some arent (blue beetle) You can go back to the arc before in GL like issue 17

Definatly my favorite title out, right now. If I were you, I'd go down to Walden Books or Books-a-million and read through the Final Night tpb and GL: Rebirth tpb, before starting on the series. You'll understand, then, why there is friction among the GL Corps and Hal. Also, while you're reading GL, pick up on the GL Corps title. It has a fairly good line going, right now.

I would say read "Green Lantern: Rebirth" first. Geoff Johns does a great job of recapping what has gone on before in previous series without having to resort to buying a truck0load of back issues.
Then, for the current series, you can pick up the hardcover that are currently available:
# 1 $25.00 No Fear (Reprints 1- 7)
# 2 $20.00 Revenge of the Green Lanterns (Reprints 10 - 13)
# 3 $20.00 Wanted: Hal Jordan (Collects Issues 14-20)
Again, Geoff does an excellent job of recapping other story lines (unlike other writers [I'm looking at you John Byrne] who dismiss previous creators works) so you don't feel lost. I was NEVER a GL fan UNTIL Geoff Johns started writing the book.
The current GL series is on issue 29 right now (Part 1 of "Secret Origin", so it's a great time to jump on board), and Geoff already has the issues plotted right up to #50.

The second Trade only has 4 issues for 20 bucks?...Man...
Forget that, just go to any LCS and pick up the issues way cheaper.

Rebirth, hands down. It's an exciting read and you get a lot of GL history in it.
