| I always thought Jim Mooney was a very good artist who suffered a lack of popularity because his style was very ordinary. Such a fine artist, very underappreciated. His art exhibited an incredible knowledge of the basics(by name only) that many of the most popular artists of today sorely lack. I wish more people would pay attention to the passing of comic book greats as they do to "grade my Swamp Thing #12". The greatest comic book artists of the Golden and Silver Age are passing away at a rapid rate, it is important to understand and appreciate their work.

| There is a whole group of artists...Jim Mooney, George Tuska, and many more...that were just great artists. They knew their craft...they were the go-to men when deadlines were approaching...they were truly respected by their peers. But they didn't have the flamboyant personalities...or the stand-out styles...of some of the more well-known artists. And it's a shame. the Neal Adams and the Barry Smiths of the world may have caught our attention...but it was the month to month work of men like Jim Mooney that kept our comics in our hearts and minds...waiting for the next Prima Donna to catch our attention. Thank you, Mr. Mooney, for all the great reads...
