Hi All!
I arranged a Shanna commission with Wildstorm artist Michael Lopez a few months back and had arranged to collect it from him at San Diego Comic Con, however, he hadn't quite finished it so I had to wait a little longer - the wait was certainly worth it!
I should also mention Michael's incredibly generous gift to an Aussie fan in the shape of a Gen 13 published cover - I was stunned when he gave it to me at SDCC!
As for the Shanna piece, I did see the 2/3 finished commission at SDCC and was delighted with what I saw so I was anxious to see the final result. Well, Michael sent me a scan today and I'm absolutely thrilled with the finished piece!!
Hope you enjoy viewing the commission! Best, Royd

| Hi Murray, Glad you liked it mate When I saw the unfinished piece at San Diego Comic Con, it was only in pencil so I'm not sure how Michael has achieved that look in the completed work. I should have it in hand next week but was too excited not to post a scan ahead of its arrival I'll ask Michael what he used and post again once I've heard from him. Best, Royd

| Well, my Michael Lopez Shanna commission arrived today via Fedex and I am simply amazed and enthralled with the piece! Murray - Even after examining it closely, I have no idea what technique Michael used to achieve the background and the 3D effect *scratched head* I'm not sure if it's some form of air-brush or other effect but I'm stumped. The central figures of Shanna and the snake are definitely pencil but I'm going to have to ask Michael how he did the backgrounds. Hart - It does look Shag-tastic - yeah baby! Go Austin Powers - haha! Best, Royd

| Hi Buffyfan, Michael charged $200 for the Shanna and it's an 11" x 17" piece on standard comic paper. However, I suspect that he put in extra effort because we've struck up a good friendship If you go to comicartfans.com and do a search for Michael Lopez, you can see a number of commissions which he's done on toned paper for which I think he charges around $100. Best, Royd

| Hi Buffyfan, I just heard that mine was a one-off at the price which Michael charged me and that he normally charges $400 for a finished piece like the Shanna. Best, Royd
