Mr. Clack,

Thank you so much for the information! I never would have thought of using lighter fluid to remove the sticker. Mr. Harvest, should I decide to try and remove the sticker, I will do my utmost to be careful. Mr. Ringfinger, I agree with you, it does look like a sticker. The use of heat, the hairdryer method, seems safest to me. How about you all? What have you gentlemen (and/ or ladies, lest we give offence) learned about removing date stamps and/or marker drawings from comics? My beloved Showcase #22 is stamped "Sold" three times, and finally a fourth time with the date of September 16, 1959. Should I even try to remove it? What do you think? I thank everyone again. I am learning a great deal from you all. Thank you.

Respectfully,

David

Gentlemen,

Mr. Iverson wrote this in thread http://www.comicspriceguide.com/forum2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=35158&SearchTerms=STICKER :

I heard that if you leave the sticker, it has been known that some 'odd' collectors call it a 'Variant Cover'. The value often multiplies by at least 4. (Wouldn't that be nice)

Has anyone found this to be the case? If so, do you think that I should leave the sticker on? Thanks.

Respectfully,

David

Hello All,

I am just reporting back on this situation. There is a sticker on this book. Shame, it is really in great condition and it was a steal. That sticker is really on there though. I do not think I will take the risk of removing it. It looks like an accident just waiting to happen (and if it can happen, it'll probably happen to me). Thaks for everything gents.

Call Matt Nelson

972-980-8040

Tell him Don Walthrop sent you.

He can remove that sticker and it wouldn't cost too much.
